Question:

My soap dispenser opens but the soap is still is encased in the plastic and has not gone through the cycle. What is causing this? Is it the upper or lower arm not distributing water to reach the soap? Thanks for your help

Cindy for model number BGHD2433KF1
Answer:

Hi Cindy, Thank you for your question. Well it could be your spray arm. I would suggest checking your water pressure. Sometimes if it is too low, the machine will not wash correctly and the water will not push the detergent out. Or you could check to see if there are any blockages over your spray arm holes or inside your spray arm. It sounds like your issue might be that the water is not coming out fast enough. If you are still having that problem after checking for blockages, I would suggest checking your detergent dispenser to see if it is working. If that is working then you may need to replace your spray arms. Good luck with your repair.

Question:

I have a question about the spray arm part #5304506516 on installing it. How tight should the nut be tightened? I removed mine to check it and it has a hole in the seam in the center. I tried to remember how tight it was on there. I don't want to over tighten it so I strip the threads. I notice when i get it to a certain point it stops, i think the threads bottom out in the nut. My question is this, is that the correct tightness? I can go a little tighter but i don't want to damage the threads on the delivery tube or the spray arm nut. Thanks, Kevin

Kevin for model number FGBD2435NB0A
Answer:

Hi Kevin, Thank you for the question. Watching the video it doesn't look like he tightened it to much after it came to a natural stop. Here is a link to the video. Hope this helps! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWFBZZEFB3E

Hi Kay, Thank you for your inquiry. There is a video on our website that you can reference on how to install the spray arm to see what you are missing. You will find the video under part number PS11770483. If the dishwasher is still not cleaning once you figure out what part is missing, There are some other parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. Spray arm broke off

Very simple repair - in my case part of the upper spray arm broke off, leaving the threaded portion still in the dishwasher. Just unscrewed the remaining broken part, and screwed back in the new part.

The part would constantly fall after every dishwasher run

Removed the old spray arm by unscrewing it from the top inside of the dishwasher. Then screwed on the new spray arm. Could not have been any easier and it has not fallen off since.

Powdery residue left on dishes in both racks after cycle.

I replaced the top spray arm and the bottom spray arm. The middle one looked like it could use replacement but it wasn't an available part. Dishes come out clean again. I didn't need any tools to install or remove the old spray arms.

Upper spray arm retainer broke

I found the upper spray arm in the top basket one day, and saw that the inner retainer had broken. I looked up the part on your website - really user friendly btw - and placed the order around 11:30 AM. At 9:30AM the next morning, FEDEX was knocking on my door. At 9:35AM the part was installed - no tools needed - and we were ready to wash dishes again. It doesn't get any better than that !!!!!

The spray arm kept popping off.

I ordered the part. It came within days, I screwed the old fault arm off by hand and put the new one on. It took five minutes or less. It was very easy, and comments of others who had ordered the part made the problem makes sense.

Top spray arm kept falling off

We noticed after only a year that the top spray arm would keep falling off during a cleaning cycle. We'd find it in the top rack of the dishwasher. When we needed to have the motor replaced after only 14 months, the repairman told us this arm falling off is a big problem. He repaired it the best way he could. Recently when it came off there was no way to fix it ourselves and we had to order another part. It's very easy to install as it just screws on the way a hose screws on to a spigot.

Upper spray arm fell off

First they very promptly sent the wrong part followed promptly by the correct one.
The male threads stick down into the top of the dishwasher. When I tried to spin the new upper spray arm onto the threads the male threads kept turning. I used the putty knife to push against and hold the male threads from turning - a butter knife or anything would work as well. Once I got it mostly threaded I pulled the knife out and finished tightening. The other descriptions on line were helpful.

The upper spray arm fell apart and had to buy a new upper spray arm

I took the upper rack out and sent it aside and then on the top I just screwed the new one on by my hand and tighten the upper spray arm until it was snugged.

Upper spray arm fell off.

The repair only took a few minutes. The hardest part was, after removing the part that was still attached, reaching and getting the threads to mesh so it could be screwed on. Maybe because the unit was full, my access was limited, so the extra 15 minutes were operator error.
