The styrofoam was split inside the transparent package
To be honest, the styrofoam was split in half inside the transparent package package when it arrived, but I glued it together then installed it and the refrigerator now works perfect!

I found a piece of foam inside the freezer air duct. It was flopping around when the fan came on making an annoying racket. It apparently has a part number: Partselect number ps11763778 call an actuator air foam. I removed it. What is it for? Should i put it back?
For model number GTS16GSHJRSS
Hi Donald, Thank you for the question. Yes to ensure proper air flow this foam is needed and I recommend putting it back in.Hope this helps!

In the schematic, the actuator air foam (6) appears outside the air cover (645), in which case, i don't have one. Or will i see it when i figure out how
To get the air cover off?
For model number GTE16DTHCRCC
Hello Margaret, Thank you for your inquiry. The air foam should be underneath the cover when you remove it. We have included a link to our video on how to install the evaporator fan on your model, which also shows how to remove the air tower and evaporator cover. Good luck with your repair.
