Old Jenn--Air cook top inop. Model discontinued
Our Jenn-Air cook top is 25 years old. One can no longer order parts for this old of model. We ordered new SS burners as well as new Burner cartridge terminal blocks for a new and current model. They work perfectly. Took 10 minutes. $ 350 dollars verses $ 2600 for a new JennAir range plus instillation. Unit looks and works great. Plan to order new switches next.

Broken glass top
Took about 10 minutes at the most. Unscrewed 6 screws. Took old top off screwed new top on. New top is a much better design. Amazed how fast we got it! The old glass was completely flat. Since I very rarely change out tops for my grill, I forgot which end the plug in was. I thought liquid had run under and the glass was just stuck. When I forced to hard (on the wrong end) the glass cracked. New glass has a small raised bump on the free end so you always know which end to lift! Very happy!!

one side of cooktop did not work
I took out the side of the cooktop that did not work. I had to take off the bottom of the cooktop and checked where electricity was going and not going. Once I found the part that needed replacing, I went on the website, search for Jen-Air cooktops and model number. From the sketch on the website, I was able to order the part needed. I decided to get 2 in order to replace both parts at one time, just in case. The part arrived quickly and was easy to install. The most time I spent was taking the backside off the cooktop and cleaning it.

Hello Eugene, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: the surface element control switch-part# W11120791, burner cartridge terminal block-part# WPY708730, or check for a loose or burnt wire connection. Hope this helps!

Hello Ronald, thank you for writing. For this symptom you will want to replace either the Burner Cartridge Terminal Block part PS11757594, the Terminal Block part PS11750972, or the Infinite Switch part PS11744449. We hope this helps.

All the units work on the left side but only the grill unit works on the right side. So there Is power on the left. Could the terminal receptacle be the part to fix? Some times the burner units will heat on right side, or heat up but not as hot as dialed. Please advise.Thanks-in advance for your help the cavagnaros

Hello Linda, Thank you for contacting us. thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your elements with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My jenair had 3 seperate plug in units. 2 are burners, one is grill unit. They all function When plugged into the left side. When i try plugging into the right side none of the burners Operate unless giggle then may heat. The grill unit works on the right side, so we are getting power. You suggested we ck the units with meter, we do not have temperature sensor-oven? And it appears if the control board is the problem it is not available? Thanks linda

Hi Linda, Thank you for your question. Please accept our apologies that you did not receive the correct information regarding your model. There is no electronic control board listed under your model number. the issue is likely the terminal block and it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

When i turn the front burner on, regardless of the setting (1-10) it will be on high. Is this the switch that is bad and if so, do they still make a replacement part for it?
For model number A105
PartSelect logo
Hi Andy, Thank you for your question. The parts may still be available but we would need the model number of your stove not the cartridge that holds the burners. It could be either the switch or the burner that can cause that issue. I would suggest testing both with a multi meter. Good luck with your repair.

My conventional coil burner large unit will not heat. I have placed two other units that I have all appear to have the same problem. I’m thinking that the culprit might be the receptacle that is attached to the stove. What are your thoughts?
For model number Jes9860aab
PartSelect logo
Hi Bruce, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, we would recommend you check the receptacle, which might get rusted or broken, the terminal block, part number PS11757594, and the infinite burner switch, part number PS12347301. We hope this sorts out your problem!
