I am trying to replace a cartridge receptacle p/n ps11757565 section 3 location 15. Question is do i have to take the top off to get to the receptacle and how do i get the front of the top loose. Wayne
    For model number JES9860AAB
Hi Wayne, Thank you for the question. The top will have to be removed. There are about 20 screws that have to be removed from the cooktop inside the two burner boxes and the vent opening. You have to disconnect the unit from the downdraft duct and pull it up through the counter top. When doing this, have a thick towel on each side of the unit and turn it diagonally and set it back on the counter top. You will find two or three screws on the front and rear and two or three on either end. The cook top should lift off. To remove the Maintop Assembly. Remove power from unit. and pull the range from installation position. Remove air grill, filter, grill grates, aeration pan and cartridges. Next remove screws from plenum area at front of opening and open oven door and remove the screws securing the maintop to oven cabinet. Next located on the bottom of the control panel and along the outside edges of the maintop. Remove cartridge receptacles and grill pans. Label and disconnect wiring to elements or take lots of pictures. Remove screws securing element mounting brackets to maintop assembly. Gently remove elements from mounting brackets to prevent damage to glass top (on select models). Reverse steps to reinstall maintop assembly. Hope this helps!

Infinite switch ran more than one burner
Purchased 1 infinite switch and installed it on the left front burner. problem still there so I used the switch that I replaced on the rear burner and all was ok. The front switch had been sending full heat to the rear burner, but the problem ended up with the rear switch. The switches are interconnected and all are the same part number.Diagrams on partsselect were the key to a successful repair. To access the switch you need only to remove the fan cover, remove the 2 screws holding the switch assembly and move it foreward and then lift to reveal slide on connectors. Power to the unit is off at the main panel during the entire process.
