Unable reach the bottom clip of the timer. You need to remove the console from the dryer base. dryer bace.
Unplug dryer !! Remove 5 screws on the back of the console. Remove lint screen & 2 screws Remove timer dial .Place wood wedge under the top of the dryer. Force wedges into the space between the top & bottom of dryer. Lift top .There are two clips that hold the console to the top. The TIMER on the dryer quit functioning. It heated, but would not move or turn off.
Removing the old timer was the hard part. When pulling off one of the wires it broke off from the female connector inside the plastic piece. I had to go the store to find another very small female connector that would work inside the plastic. After stripping the very small stranded wire, crimping it to the new connector I finally could insert it inside the replacement timer.
Upon completion, nothing had changed. Still have heat but the timer does not move. An electrician friend says the dryer probably has a 110 wire coming off the 220 to supply the power to the timer. I haven't taken it apart yet to try and find the problem.

Timer failed.
Removed 5 screws holding the back plate in place and removed the 5 different connections to the timer. I had a fair amount of difficulty "releasing" the old timer from its two clips that held the timer in place. I really needed a special pair of pliers that I could grip the pressure clips. Sad to say that in the process of releasing the bottom clip I broke of the clip. It turned out that I didn't need the lower clip to securely hold the new timer in place. There was substantial pressure against the timer given by the cable connections that the timer held in place. Replaced the back plate.
