Does this part control the defrost timer? My unit is not defrosting. It keeps freezing up. I have replaced the fan motor with the defrost thermostat. Any suggestions?

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. The freezer is only cooling down to 32 degrees and the fridge is at 44 degrees. Condenser and evaporator fans are running. No ice buildup. Cleaned coils (were not that bad), replaced main board. The fridge seems to run constantly, but just does not get colder.

Thank you for your question. If the refrigerator and freezer are too warm, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. My refrigerator randomly shuts off. I can hear a solenoid or valve cycling. If i unplug the refrigerator for several minutes, it returns to normal operation. Is this the correct control board to repair this issue?

Hello Dennis, thank you for your question. This could be an issue with the inverter board that is on the compressor or the main control board. We would recommend testing the inverter first. The inverter should receive 3 to 6 Vdc from the inverter. This will be on the compressor side of the inverter. The red/white will read 120Vac to the inverter. If 120Vac is not to the inverter board, replace the main control board WPW10589837 also. I hope this helps!

Hi i have a kitchen aid french door bottom mount refrigerator (freezer on bottom). Ice keeps building up in the bottom of the freezer compartment .We have been having this problem sense it was new never could get it fixer under the factory or extended warranty, what controls the defrost heater system? I have ck the drain lines and found no problems

Hello and thank you for writing.
It certainly sounds like it could be faulty defrost thermostat PS11769783 ( it is marked as a wiring harness but it comes with the thermostat included) which in turn if it is faulty would affect the defrost heater, you should check for signs of damage, and replace if necessary. Do inspect your freezer door gasket PS5573760 for damage just to make sure any condensation and subsequent ice built up does not come from there. We hope this helps. Hello Wayland, Thank you for the question. This is the control board that is located on the back of the appliance and controls the operations of the Fridge. Three LED lights in the upper fridge section stopped working and the one in the bottom freezer. The drain line to the pan below was clogged and maybe backed up causing it to damage the board? Or at least what I've ready in other posts. According to the posts, I would need to replace the LED emitter board? Trying to find out what part number that is for my model. Please advise.

I ordered the LED transmitter light to fix lights not coming on in the refrigerator and that did not fix it. Seems to me like that board is only for sensing if the ice bin is full or not. As stated before three lights in the refrigerator and one in the freezer are not coming on. What part do I need to get to fix that? Thanks!

Several of the interior lights (led) have stopped working, some continue to come on when the door is opened. I have switched lights into different positions working vs non-working and the non working light will turn on in a working slot. What electronic control board do i need in order to have all of my interior lights work, currently only two lights come on when the door is opened. This started when the fridge was approximately 2 years old, now four years old. Cannot seem to get the correct part confirmation.

I have had the refrigerator not running and everything is warm, when unplugged and plugged back in the reversing valve kept pulsing and getting hot and finally start. Did that twice, now the front panel is non responsive and the power failure is flashing,confirm, adjust,c/f are on solid. The ice and water won't work from the two switches and the glass paddle will start the ice maker and won't stop till unplugged again. What control board would be causing this?
