Water Level Switch Specifications

This part is located behind the control panel. It helps determine the level of water in the washer. As the water fills the hose, while tub is filling, it will push the air against a diaphragm inside the switch. More water that enters the tub, more pressure is applied against the switch.

The washer level switch broke
I am still waiting for the correct part to arrive, I was sent a part but it was the wrong part, the wrong part number and it was nothing that would work on a washing machine. I think someone else ended up with my part and I got theirs.

Washer not draining and door locked .. Loud buzzing
First, the repair manual is under the top cover. From the manual, I found that my problem E1 F0 (I think) was one of two possible issues, the drain pump or level switch. I bought both parts and replaced them and the issue is no more. The repair went very easy. You remove the rear cover and top. The pump is located in the bottom bay of the machine. The only issue I had was that the machine had the drawer unit, which blocked the access panel under the machine and made installation and removal a little more difficult. The best way is to tilt the machine forward to reach the bolts, a small ratchet set works nicely. The level switch is on the right side, toward the rear. This part slides out, and the wires are keyed, so they only go in one way.

Door locked because of faulty water level switch
First some background. The door locked up the first time when appliance was less than one year old. The "Maytag Repairman" finally succeeded in getting the door open after propping up the front of the machine and fumbling around underneath for a period of time and then assured me the problem was solved. The problem recurred less than a year later, and I called another repairman who seemed to have an easier time of it, and charged $293.42 to replace the water level switch. About six months later the same problem recurred and I took the cover off the top of the machine and found there a booklet "For Service Technician's Use Only". VERY HELPFUL. Told how extremely easy it was to unlock door - took about five seconds. Replacing the switch itself involved pulling one tubing off and disconnecting one elec connection from old switch and replacing on new switch. Total cost $50 plus a few dollars for shipping.

Washer shows f9 e1 code pump, screen and hose are clean could it be water level sensor
For model number WFW86HEBW2
PartSelect logo
Hi Don. No the sensor would not cause this error, It's likely the pump and last case would be the control board PS11757161. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.

Would this cause. L0 FL?
For model number Mhw5630hc0
PartSelect logo
Hello Jose, Thank you for the question. The Lo FL error code indicates the appliance is not detecting the correct amount of incoming water. If both the hot and cold water taps are on and there is a good water pressure, we suggest checking the hoses for kinks and bends. Also make sure the drain hose is properly installed so it is not syphoning the water as it fills. Check that only 4.5" (113 mm) of the drain hose is in the drainpipe (standpipe) or sink. If everything looks good, we suggest checking the Water-Level Pressure Switch. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Receive a reoccurring f9-e1 code on the rinse cycle. Unplug washer, plug back in, the machine drains fine, but have to restart the cycle. Drain hose clean, trap basket clean, water level switch trap clean. Will this part solve my problem?
For model number mhw5100dw0
PartSelect logo
Hi Raymond. It could be a bad drain pump, water level switch or possibly even a bad control board. Because of the technical nature of diagnosing you will either need a multi-meter and a lot of patience or to higher a technician to do this for you.Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.

Is this pressure switch possibly what is causing a wfw94heaw0 to get stuck in a loop "sensing" the load of clothes? I have a washer that keeps "sensing" as it rolls clothes around but I believe this switch is used in the sensing process but I could be wrong. I know I can test it if it works on or off by lightly blowing into it but is there a better way of testing? Thanks,
For model number WFW94HEAW0
PartSelect logo
Hello Jay, Thank you for the question. The stuck Sensing is normally caused by a defective Door Lock/Latch PartSelect Number PS11745083. You can test both the lock and switch with a multi meter to check for continuity. Hope this helps!

When the washer has completed a load, some of the items are dry! What is happening?
For model number MHW7000A
PartSelect logo
Hello Gina, thank you for writing. It is likely it was overloaded. Overloading can lead to an imbalance that reduces the washer's spin speed, leaving clothes too wet after spin cycle completes. If the washer leaves clothes soaked after a large load, remove some items, redistribute others, and run another rinse and spin cycle. Also, some fabrics are manufactured to spin practically dry. We hope this helps.
