Ice maker quit making ice but the water dispenser still works. I replaced the ice maker and still no ice. Thinking about trying the water inlet valve next, but if it were bad wouldn't the water dispenser not work too? Why would the water dispenser work and not the water dispenser for the ice maker?
    For model number 10651783412
Hi Jason, thank you for your question. The valve has two solenoids that control either the dispenser or the ice maker. Even if your dispenser is working the ice maker solenoid may not be and vise versa. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I changed the water filter in my refrigerator, and now the machine makes a hammering noise when i dispense water. It does not make the noise when the filter is removed. The sound is the hoses banging against the back of the fridge when water it's being dispensed with the filter in place. We've removed the filter and put it back in, thinking perhaps it was not in quite right, but the sound continues after filter is replaced, and after we've let it run long enough to release any trapped air. Will replacing the valve with this part solve the problem?
For model number Kenmore 106.51134 210
Hello Kristen, thank you for your question. The valve may fix that issue, but we would recommend checking the water filter housing for any cracks or holes in the hoses that run to the housing and from the housing. It sounds like there is air getting into the lines at some point. If that doesn't help, replacing the valve may solve the issue. I hope this helps!

Will replacing this part stop my water dispenser from dispensing water without the paddle being pushed? If not, what part should i being repairing? Thanks.
    For model number GSF26C4EXB02
Hello Derrick, Thank you for your inquiry. I would also check the water filter and the dispenser electric control board. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

My ice drops once ready and than i hear a loud squealing sound as water is refilling. I don't know which inlet valve is the culprit or if this is a diy project. My research online says this may be due to a high psi and should be 50 psi Max. I called 2 reputable local appliance places who poo pooed this. I never had this squeal with prior ice Kenmore ice maker. Part 11 or 37 in diagram?
    For model number WRS571CIDM01
Hi Arthur, thank you for your question. If you take a look at the back of your appliance you should see which valve the water line from your home goes into. I believe it would be part 11 in the diagram but you would have to double check. You can also test these parts with a multi meter to make sure they are working correctly as well. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Ice maker not making ice.Ice bin fill arm not descending in to bin. stuck at high point. it is not frozen.
    For model number WRS576FIDW01
Hi Joseph, Thank you for your question. The arm should be in the up position until it cycles. The ice maker has an automatic shutoff to keep the storage bin from overfilling during normal operation. As ice is made, the ice cubes will fill the ice storage bin, and the ice cubes will raise the shutoff arm to the OFF (arm up) position. When the storage bin is at full capacity, the ice maker will automatically stop ice production, but the ice maker On/Off switch will remain in the ON (up) position. Try and press the on/off switch and then lowering the arm manually to see if this helps. If it not you may have to refer to the diagnostics tech sheet that came with your refrigerator or contact Whirlpool for more information. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

The water dispenser stops working randomly. The pump hums but does not dispense water. Then, 10-30 minutes later, it works again. It does this a couple of times each day. Could the inlet valve be going bad and need replacement?
    For model number WRS588FIHZ
Hello Theresa, thank you for your question. If your water dispenser stops working randomly then the issue is probably with the Water Inlet Valve, part number PS11750831. If that does not take care of the issue, then the problem is most likely to be related to the Ice and Water Filter, part number PS11701542. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.

My ice maker quit working. I replaced the whole ice maker unit but still no ice. Do you think it could be the ps11753250 inlet valve? I am good with a multi meter and can test things but where would i find the service data or schematic? Do they still fold them up and put them in the back of the unit like the old days? Can i download it somewhere?
    For model number JSC23C9EEM00
Hello Greg, Thank you for the question. If the ice maker is not filling with water and the new icemaker did not fix the issue, it is more then likley the Valve. You can try to pour a glass of water into the ice maker to see if it makes ice as normal. The Service Data sheets are usually still on the back of the appliance and the manufacturer might have a site you can download them. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
