The upper spray arm rotates and sprays water to clean the dishes inside the dishwasher tub. If your dishes are not being cleaned properly, you should check if there is an issue with the spray arm. To check your spray arm, make sure the spray arms can move evenly and freely on their bearing rings and mounting brackets. Remove your spray arm and check to ensure they are straight and undamaged. This spray arm is made of high-quality plastic and is just over 5 inches long.

Adequate Part, Ridiculous Price
Part worked for what I needed. I shouldn't have had to pay more than $80 combined for the spray arm and the little plastic retaining knob.

Works fine, retaining clip is absurdly priced
Replacing the upper wash arm takes a few minutes, only needs a flathead screwdriver. I searched YouTube before hand, which make it easy to see what you need to release and how flexible things are to easily get the old part out and the new one in.
There is a small necessary retaining clip sold separately, but it's nearly impossible to remove the old wash arm parts without breaking the clip. That plastic retaining clip probably costs 5 cents to make. Good luck buying it for less than $23 or so.

don't forget the tiny button "clip"
I was fortunate to find the little button clip that fastens the spray arm in place atop the water delivery bracket in the washtub. The original spray arm had disconnected and fallen onto the heating element (melted) at the bottom of the tub. This replacement went in easily and clipped in with a satisfying "snap" when I pressed the button clip into it through the bracket. Everything works fine, just like new.

Quick easy repair
The upper spray arm had fallen off and in trying to reattach the clip broke so I got both parts and everything went right back together and has been fine. However considering how tight it connects when done correctly I am pretty sure it was not assembled correctly originally at the factory. So I suppose the whole thing could have come under a warranty repair but it’s working fine now.

What holds the upper rotating arm in place? I have snapped it back in place but it fell out during the next wash cycle.
For model number KDTE104DSS0
Hello Charles, Thank you for your inquiry. The upper spray arm is held onto the feed tube by a push in retainer clip, part# WP3400918. Hope this helps!

Hi i asked a question earlier but did not get the answer i needed. I am looking to purchase the piece that connects the middle sprayer arm to the dishwasher. If you look at the diagram you provided for the spray arm part, you will see there is a piece that screws on. (its actually 2 pieces. One sits inside the other) it’s near the “#6” on the diagram.

Hi Marie,
Thank you for your follow up. Do you mean part number 6 is what you are looking for? If so I have listed that part in a link down below for you. The parts are also listed underneath the diagram information on your model as well, if that helps too. The middle spray arm itself connects to the manifold. Which is part 4 in the diagram. I have listed that part down below as well. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
Small spray arm keeps falling off; how does it install
Hello Raven, Thank you for the question. The small upper spray arm is held onto the feed tube by a push in retainer clip, PartSelect Number PS11741622. We Hope this helps!
The spray arm that attaches to the top rack has broken (3 of the clips on the square part that attaches the arm) and I am looking for the correct part number to replace it. The arm has 4 part numbers printed on it and i need the correct one to use. The 4 part numbers are w1048645(gs), w10448616(gd), w10448617(gn), and w10453933(jg).

This part came off when we pulled the upper tray out to empty it. How can we put it back in tight?
Hello Ken,
Thanks for your question. You will need to push it back into the retainer clip which holds it into place normally.
I hope this helps.

Does the spray arm come with the attachment pieces? And can they be purchased separately?
For model number MDB5969SDE0
Hi Marie,
Thank you for your question. This part is just your upper spray arm, it does not come with any of the other parts. You should be able to reuse what you have but if you need the other parts as well for your upper spray arm, I have listed the part in a link down below for you. Good luck with your repair.
The model number I gave above is my Whirlpool dishwasher model number. My question is about my small upper spray arm part number is ps11752935. I have always felt it does not spray out wide enough because it is only 5 inches long so my dishes in the top rack don't get cleaned well. I want to know is there an alternative long spray arm like the one at the lower level of my dishwasher that can replace that 5 inch one? I've got to replace both the lower and upper arms anyway, so I'd like to put a longer arm at the top of my dishwasher if that kind of alternative will work up in place of that 5 inch one.

Hello Beverly, Thank you for contacting PartSelect.com. Very sorry, we only list the original OEM parts that came with the appliance. We strongly recommend you contact the manufacturer, as they would have this information in their system. Ask them for the part number you require and contact back to see if it is something we carry. We hope this helps.
