No water was entering the dishwasher.
Disconnected the water hose entering and one electrical plug alone with one screw that holds the valve to the machine. Replaced the old with the new and it worked.

My dishwasher seemed normal, but when the cycle was done, i realized that no water ever got into the machine; (lights worked, sounded like it was running.) the dishes were still dirty, the detergent had spilled out inside the door. What part would i need for this. The machine did sound a little different, but not noisy

Hi Joy, Thank you for your question. if your dishwasher is not filling with water, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the water inlet valve, the circulation pump and motor, the overfill control switch, the hose clamp, the door balance link, the drain hose and the impeller and seal kit. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

If the water inlet valve is bad,or sticks open, would this cause water to pour out of the dishwasher under the door?
For model number MDB4949SDM
PartSelect logo
Hi Dennis, Thank you for the question. If the valve is stuck open it is allowing the dishwasher to overflow and will cause the water to leak from the bottom of the door. Hope this helps!

This is an inlet water valve for a kitchen aid. Part #w10316814. I am quite certain this is bad, it measures a resistance of 1000 ohms. What should the approximate resistance be?
PartSelect logo
Hi Carlos, Thank you for the question. The best way to test the valve is to check for power going to the valve. If there is power there, and no water, you will need to replace the water valve. Hope this helps!

What voltage is the valve supposed to receive? It appears mine is getting 30vac.
For model number KUDS35FXSSg

Hello Greg, thank you for your question. The water inlet valve requires 110-120 volts to open. I hope this helps!

Water pours in and does not stop and ultimately flows out the door. I think it is the valve that needs replacing but I keep seeing the overflow switch too. Can you help?
For model number MDB4949SDM1
PartSelect logo
Hello Joe, Thanks for your question. We would recommend testing both the water inlet valve and the overflow control switch for continuity with a multimeter, and replace either of them if they do not show continuity. The water inlet valve is more commonly at fault but it is a good idea to test both parts. I hope this helps.

I had damage to my hoses from a rodent. We can replace the hoses but it seems the hard rubber elbow that attaches to the pump has been damaged also. We are not able to reconnect the hoses to what i assume is the pump. The part is held together with 2 clamps and i cannot find anything on your diagram that help identify what i am looking for. Do you think this dishwasher is repairable?
For model number WDF760SADW0

Hi Carol, thank you for your question. If this is the part that you inlet hose plugs into, then you would need to replace your valve. If it is the part that your drain hose connects to you will want to take a look at your Pump, Washarm And Motor Parts diagram. It sounds like that is the area that you are talking about. You will need to either replace the hose, part 20 in the diagram. Or you will need to replace the pump itself, part 9 in the diagram. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I've noticed that if my dishwasher hasn't been ran in a while I will find water in the bottom. Could the valve be leaking? It will run a cycle just fine and all the water drains properly.
For model number WDT750SAHZ0
PartSelect logo
Hi Jakob, thank you for your question. According to our research, if the amount of water left in the dishwasher after a cycle is no more than two cups, then this is normal. Usually, the appliance remains wet after a cycle due to the condensation drying principle which creates water droplets in the tub. The moisture in the air condenses on the inside walls, runs off, and is pumped out. A thorough cleaning of the filter and hoses with vinegar and detergent might help prevent this issue. We hope this information helps!

Thank you for answering my previous question. There is definitely more then 2 cups of water. If I do not run my machine for a day or 2 there is enough water in there to cause it to overflow when the door is opened. Could this be water leaking in and a failure of the float switch? Again, under normal operation the machine works fine.
For model number WDT750SAHZ0
PartSelect logo
Hi Jakob, thank you for reaching out again. Yes, if the water is more than 2 cups and it is overflowing, it is recommended to check the float switch, part number PS11750031. This float switch, when activated, stops the flow of water into the dishwasher. A faulty float switch might be causing the water to flow continuously into the dishwasher. We hope this information helps!
