Repair was very simple.
The part arrived in a timely manner and was a perfect fit for my fridge. Installation couldn't have been easier and I now have a working ice maker just in tie for summer!

A very simple job to complete. It only takes a few minutes to complete.
Correct part was sent. Same as the original. I was fed up with using ice trays, or should I say my wife was. Some days you just put off the easy jobs, but your wife won't let you.

Whirlpool Ice maker inlet valve
The part was shipped the next day. I got it in 3 days. Their prices are equal to other sites I visited. I first did the check outs on the problem and narrowed it down to the water inlet valve. If you can read and use hand tools you can fix your appliances. I never paid a repair man to fix my appliances.

Ice maker leaks water in bottom of freezer and leaks on to the floor frequently. Ice maker is working normally. After replacing the water filters, it started leaking. If i turn the ice maker arm off or in up position, it does not leak. I think the water inlet valve and solenoid is the problem. Do you concur?
For model number WRF560SMYW04
Hello Merrill, thank you for your question. Yes, we would agree, the valve is the most likely issue. We would recommend ordering and replacing the valve. I hope this helps!

Water accumulating on the top shelf below the freezer
For model number Wrt311fzdwo1
Hi Keith, thank you for reaching out. Your refrigerator may be facing this issue because of a faulty water inlet valve, part number PS11751805. It controls the water flow to the ice maker and the water dispenser. If too much water is being transferred toward the ice maker, it might cause it to overflow. The ice maker assembly, part number PS11757273, itself might be the cause of this issue. We would also suggest checking the defrost drain tube, part number PS10061815. If the drain tube is clogged or damaged, the water can't drain from the evaporator drip tray and instead overflows into the freezer or refrigerator compartment. We hope this information is useful!

The plastic tubing leading from the water valve to the ice maker broke near the valve. Would i need to replace the tubing and the valve or just the tubing? If just the tubing, what is the part #? Thanks!

I've got my new water inlet valve wpw10279909 for my Whirlpool refrigerator ice maker. I'm wondering how to remove and replace the tubing that leads to the ice maker. I don't want to damage it. I've unplugged the valve from the electrical supply but can't figure out how to get the tubing out.

The tubing going from valve to ice maker was cracked and leaking. Bought new tubing but cannot get it out of the part that feeds it into the ice maker. Have an adapter for 1/4 inch tubing to splice it would that work? Also it seems to be dripping water slowly from where the tubing goes into the valve. Could the push-pull adapter be faulty?
For model number M1txegmyb01

I find water on the floor behind the refrigerator and the only thing i can attribute this to is the ice maker. I've checked the feed lines and replaced the one going to i guess we'll call it the valve. When the ice maker is in the on position it seems ok. When we shut ice maker off it seems that is when we find water. I cannot find any areas that look like water is leaking. Maybe it dries from the heat from the refrigerator. Any ideas. Could it be the valve or whatever you call the item where the water feed goes in and comes out of.
For model number M1TXEGMYB00
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your question. If the refrigerator is leaking when the ice maker is off, the issue could be the water inlet valve. If the water pressure is too low, it may not fully close when the power is shut off. You should also check the ice maker, the water lines and the fill tube. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

What tools do I need to replace the water line on the inlet valve?
For model number W10498995 whirlpool ice maker valve
Hello James, thank you for getting in touch. We have found that you do not need any tools to replace the water line on the inlet valve. In order to remove the water tube, you will need to push on the yellow circle on the bottom so that it allows you to pull the hose out. You can connect the water tube by simply inserting it in the yellow hole. We hope this is helpful!

I recently installed an ice maker in my fridge. The ice tastes horrible of plastic and it is only getting worse each day. I have ruled out the water supply line. I'm thinking I will need to replace the plastic tube coming from the water inlet valve to the icemaker, but I can't find what line to get. Can you give me the item number I need?
For model number WRT511SZDW00
Hello Matt, thank you for asking. The main cause of this issue is that the ice maker is unused. The taste does go away eventually the more you use your ice maker. Clean the reservoir with vinegar ( or lemon juice) and warm water. This will eliminate the plastic taste. Rinse your ice maker with fresh warm water afterwards to eliminate the lemon smell. We are pleased to have been able to help.
