We have a broken detergent dispenser lid. Do i have to buy the whole panel? Can i not just replace the lid instead? Also, the door keeps popping open allllll the time. I have tried adjusting the u shaped metal latch on the diswahser, but it still pops open. Thinking i might need the latch on the door?? thanks. sue
For model number KUDP02FR
Hello Sue, that is a great question. For the rinse dispenser you can only get the cap as a separate part, anything else you would need to purchase the whole dispenser - PS11750655. For the door it sounds like a new latch and strike may be needed. Door latch PS886294 and Door strike PS11746708. Hope this helps!

Hi Dawn, thank you for your question. Unfortunately you would have to get a whole new dispenser. The lid would not be sold separately. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The dispenser door was broken, would not close.
First I removed the (8) screws holding the front door panel on. Then I took the door panel off and unpluged the ribbon wiring so the door was free from the dishwasher. I then unpluded the wiring going to the dispensor. Then I removed the (6) screws holding the dispensor into place and then sprung the holders (2) so the dispendor could be removed. I stuck the new dispensor in its place, pushed it in so the (2) metal holders locked into place, then replaced the (6) screws, pluged the wiring into the new dospensor, pluged the ribbion wiring back in and replaced the front door panel and reinstalled the (8) screws that hold the front door into place. And then tested and everything worked fine.

    latch on soap dispenser failed
I removed the 10 screws that hold the front door panel on and then I removed the 6 screws that hold the dispenser in place, pried slightly on the 2 clamps that hold the dispenser in place, unplugged the wire to it and pulled it out.
Put the new one in and reversed the steps. Presto done!
    Works great.

    Soap Door Latch Pin Broken
Needed to replace whole soap dispenser unit. Had to take front door apart cause the hex screws are on the inside. (10 Screws) then doors falls off onto floor if not careful. Spring loaded inner door wants to go up and outside door wants to fall off pulling on wiring. Unplug wiring to solinoid,(plug has locking release lever that needs to be pulled on) remove 6 hex screws, and dispenser comes out. Install new unit with 6 screws, plug in, and get help holding door parts together while installing the 10 screws. You are now finished. Pros are you get the complete unit, and not a bunch of parts. Cons are no diagrams or instructions/no new 6 hex head screws-reuse old ones. . . . . . Do not use soap powder/causes damage to latch parts/use only liquid soaps. . .

    Dispenser cover was broken
The repair went okay. The problem was that the dishwasher would not run after the installation of the dispenser. The door was taken apart 2-3 times. I told my husband (the repair man) that we should pull out the dishwasher so I could clean behind it. I asked him 4 or 5 times to pull out the dishwasrer. Never an answer. Mind you he is an electrician by trade now retired. For some reason while I was not looking he did pull the unit out after 2 hours of fussing with this electrical problem. Remember he is an electrican by trade. When he pulled the unit out "THE PLUG WAS OUT OF THE SOCKET". How funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could not stop laughing. I had to answer the phone at that time and my friend thought I was out of breath from running for the phone. I told her later it was from the PLUG OUT OF SOCKET TRICK. I still am laughing. The first thing an repair mann will ask you is if the unit is pluged in. I have two sons and one son-in-law that are electricans and will have many years of fun telling this story. It is good to laugh. I will be laughing for a long time.

Detergent and Rinse Dispenser door latch completely worn out.
I am NOT an appliance technician. I am simply a somewhat handy homeowner. Removal of outer door panel requires removal of two screws from inside the top of the door assembly at the latch, as well as all of the obvious mating screws from around the perimeter of the inside of the door assembly. Use a #15 torx driver bit. Pull top of panel out (away from the machine) by maybe two inches, then lift the outer panel up to clear the bottom end of it from the lower positioning brackets. DO NOT lever the top of the panel outward. Keep it close to the inner door. It may take bit of an upward tug to dislodge. Careful here - the outer panel will simply fall free. Two wire pigtails that are connected to components on the inner door are short, so be careful not to strain them after dislodging the outer panel. One is connected to the dispenser. Disconnect both as to provide good clearance for the component replacement. The main wire harness is of sufficient length as to not cause a problem. The six 3/16 hex head screws holding the dispenser in place are easy to remove. There are two small sheet metal tabs that keep the device in place after the screws are removed, but a rectangular mounting frame or bezel will come off, along with the little black curtain that protects the unit. The tabs are at upper left and lower right at the perimeter of the opening in the inner panel. They must be levered gently as to allow the dispenser to push inward for removal. After removal, spend some time cleaning the inner surface of the inner panel as to ensure that the new device will make a watertight contact when fastened in place. Bend the tabs slightly back to an inward position, and install the new dispenser with the socket and motor to your left as you look at it from outside the machine. It clicks in to place and stays put. The bezel mounts only one way (in terms of being upside down) and the flat surface must be toward the inner door. Re-positioning the little black curtain is tricky but if you follow the marks in the material from the previous mount it should work out OK. Tighten the screws evenly as to ensure a good seal. Move the outer cover closer and reconnect the two plugs. Use an object to wedge the inner door open by a few inches, and lift the front panel such that you can position it and slide it back down on the inner panel as to re-engage the lower holding brackets. This keeps the bottom of the panel in place during the reassembly. Now for the fun part... The upper end of the outer panel has to be positioned just right against the inner panel in order to seat the two long screws that straddle the latch assembly from the inside. You'll need clamps, or two people. There's a flat rubber seal on the top edge of the inner door. See that it is seated properly, and then that it becomes covered by the outer panel. If one person firmly holds the panels precisely in position, then the other person can install the screws to a point of being mildly snug. The other two longer screws go in the top-most holes at the upper/outer corners of the door assembly. Place them next. From there, you can carefully replace all the rest of the screws. Only after all of the screws are in place should you make all of them tight. You're done.

the soap dispenser door latch was broken
I removed the front of the dishwasher. Then removed the old dispenser assembly, and installed the new one. I don't have as many tools as I need here in our winter residence, so the job took a few more minutes than it would if I'd have had the correct tools.

Getting the large rubber gasket of the Sump / Motor Assembly to seat fully.
After struggling with the Sump / Motor Assembly for over an hour, I applied a generous coating of silicone lube to the rubber gasket, seated the Assembly and put in 2 of the retention clips. Then, with the aid of a 20 weight to hold the Assembly in its fully seated position, I was able to insert the 3rd retention clip. This method worked well but the company video does not show doing anything like this. Without the lube and weight installation is probably a two person job.
All the rest of the assembly went easy. The Dishwasher now works like a brand new one.
