How does the float come off, and do float parts such as overflow control switch come with directions on how to remove old float & overflow switch and install new ones?
For model number MDB4949SDM
Hi Dennis,
Thank you for your inquiry. We get our parts prepackaged from the manufacturer, so they may or may not include instructions. There is a video on our website that you can reference on how to install the float. You will find the video under part number PS2344786. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My Maytag is occasionally leaking from directly under the float switch. Per an answer i received on the item page for a gasket (ps11746142), i have ordered this replacement valve and a backup gasket. I assume the dw has to be removed for installation?
For model number MD8959SBS
Hi GH,
Thank you for your question. We do have an installation video that will show you how a float switch is generally installed: https://youtu.be/xZY_PIp1YRw . I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Red drain light stays on and 2 second count down blinks?
For model number 66514573N612
Hello Russell, Thank you for the question. Depending on what cycle the Red Light and Countdown is in the display, we suggest checking the Drain Hoses and the Pump for a blockage or clog preventing it from properly draining. We hope this helps!
My dishwasher is leaking from the float valve, and this time its not the gasket under the nut (replaced that already) as it was a large leak. Is there an o ring on the float that stops water from going down the float tube and running out onto the floor??
For model number KUDE70FXSS3
Hi Don, thank you for your question. No there is not. The gasket is the one underneath of the nut. No water at all should be getting passed that gasket and into the electrical parts of the float switch. It sounds more like you are getting a leak from somewhere else in your appliance. I would suggest taking a look at your water inlet valve, and your sump parts to see if the leak is coming from there. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Water Leake. Seems to be coming from door area put on a new door seal washed 1 load dishes worked no leaks. Washed 2nd load leaking a lot. Turned dishwasher off and tub was full of water . Leaking seems to be near the Float area the water seems to be in the float area. Does not happen every time we wash dishes. Just at random times.

I'm trying to troubleshoot a leak along the front edge of my machine. I removed filter, cleaned everything out, including chopper. I had hard water so there was a lot of mineral build up, I've put in a softener system a few months ago to rectify this. This leak was maybe every 8-10 loads, but recently it's been every time and pretty substantial. After cleaning just now a ran a few rinse cycles, first two fine, third-leaking again. I'm not sure how much water the machine should allow, I'm thinking maybe an issue with the float. Doesn't seem to have a mechanical issue, it moves freely. How would I know if it's allowing too much water? Is there something else to check? Pump seems to work ok, water drains efficiently into the sink as far as I can tell.

Dishwasher seems to always have water at the bottom and is leaking. I understand a bit of water will always remain. Hoses and filter cleaned. Float? Drain pump? Control panel?

Leaking somehow down the shaft of the float and out the bottom of the float assembly. Unit will hold water for hours without leaking, so its not the float gasket. When it does leak it isn't just dripping, it's quite a bit of water. I have taken apart and inspected the float and the float housing and nothing looks abnormal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
