This is a bottom freezer Whirlpool refrigerator. The freezer is no longer defrosting. Ice builds up over time and the fan blades grind on the ice. Is there a timer that signals/regulates a defrost cycle?
For model number WRF560SMYH01

Hi Greg,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest you first test your thermistor to see if that part is working correctly. If it is then take a look at your start device and your run capacitor. You should be able to test them with a multi meter. If all three of those parts are in working order, it may be your control board that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I hear the capacitor buzzing and then click off. Could this be the start device malfunction or a defective capacitor. thank you!

Fridge and freezer were too warm
Chose these parts based on suggestion on this website, as well as other sites. They did not correct the problem. Shipping was also quite slow.
