icicles hanging off of ice cube maker. The ice maker still made ice cubes but somehow water must have been overfilling the tray and trickling over and freezing, Tirning into long thin icicles.
Figured that ice forming tray was overfilling. The ice maker has an electrical timer motor and temp sensor built in.
Figured something might be wrong with it.
Decided to change the unit. It was affordable.
I changed it. No more icicles.

Replaced ice maker before so not a bad job.
Problem was with the new ice maker from you. Waited a couple days after install n still no ice, contacted you for a replacement and when pulling out your ice maker, it slipped from my hand n broke plastic part when it hit the floor , so I ordered another. I don’t blame you for a bad part which was supplied to you, but you need to say something to the supplier

ICE MAKER WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING
I ordered a new icemaker and installed it. Just one screw on the bottom and it slides out. At first it wouldn't slide(the water tube was holding it) so just a little more pressure and the tube bent to let it slide out. Replaced the slide portion from the old icemaker and put on the new one and slid it back in.

It wouldn't eject ice cubes .
Removed the 1/4" screw at right rear corner of the ice maker , pushed up on the springy lever on the left front under side and pulled it out far enough to unplug the power connector. This involves prying a tab on the connector so you can get iit apart. Then pulled out the ice maker and reassembled in reverse order. Point started working right away

Does instructions come with ice maker.
For model number ed2shaxmq10
PartSelect logo
Hi Mark, Thank you for the question. We can not guarantee instructions come with the part since everything is pre packaged from the manufacture but in most cases they do come with ice makers. If not, I was able to locate some basic instructions for you. Once you remove the door covering the ice maker you need to slide out the ice bin below the ice maker. Next you will see the screws below and above the ice maker holding it onto the wall of the freezer. Once the screws are removed you can take the ice maker off the interior wall.At the back of the ice maker you will see the wire harness where the ice maker plugs in. Unplug the ice maker and remove from the appliance. As per the manufacturer: the bracket will have to be removed from your old ice maker and reattached to your new ice maker. The cover is not included. Then reverse the steps to reinstall. Hope this helps!

My ice maker is leaking causing ice sickles to form. Ice cubes are normal size. Is the ice maker bad or is it possibly the water control valve allowing too much water into the ice maker?
For model number 10656824600
PartSelect logo
Hi James, Thank you for your question. Yes, if the ice maker is leaking, then the issue is likely the water inlet valve. You will need to test it with a multimeter to see if it is working correctly. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

One ice cube will not always drop into the tray and the unit drops water to the bottom of the frig and freezes.
For model number 106.56232400

Hello Don, thank you for your question. This could be an issue with the thermostat, Part #: PS11743313, or the icemaker heater assembly Part #: PS11748649. We would recommend replacing both part. I hope this helps.

The icemaker works fine, but it leaks water out of the tray and cascades down on the shelves. I removed, cleaned, and reinstalled the icemaker. It works without leaking for a short while, for example 2 days, but then slowly icicles start to show up on the shelves. It has been two months and it is getting bad again. Will this part fix that problem?
For model number 10656834603
PartSelect logo
Hello Mike, Thanks for your question. The most likely cause of this issue would be due to a faulty water inlet valve, part number PS11723179. You may wish to examine the valve for any signs of damage, or if you have a multimeter consider testing the part for electrical continuity. Replace it if it shows no continuity. I hope this helps.

Hi Jr, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the water lines, make sure they are not compressed or damaged. They can also freeze up and not allow the water to flow. Make sure all the elbow connectors are secure and not letting air in causing air in the lines.Hope this helps!

1st ice cubes are 1/2 of normal size. 2nd item is there is a possible leak about the mixing value. 3rd no leak at the value or dispensing water from the door. When we turn off ice maker no leak. What do you suggest?
For model number ED2KHAXVB01
PartSelect logo
Hello Gregory, thank you for inquiring. For what you are describing, you may want to consider either the Water Inlet Valve part PS11723179, the Single Water Filter part PS11722128, or the Water Reservoir Tubing part PS11751727 for your model. We hope this helps.

Why does the ice maker freeze over about every 3 weeks.
For model number ED2LHAXMQ10
PartSelect logo
Hi John, thank you for your question. You may need to check if you have a leak in your water valve or if your appliance is too cold. If there is a leak in your valve it is generally very small. So it would be over a period of time that your ice maker would freeze over. Good luck with your repair.
