This is an ice maker mold and heater assembly for a refrigerator ice maker. It is used with modular style icemakers and is located in the freezer section of the refrigerator. This ice mold is flake resistant which prevents the coating on the mold from flaking into the ice cubes when the ice mold begins to wear. The ice mold forms the ice cubes and the heater allows the ice cubes to fall from the ice mold to drop them into the ice bucket. You will need to remove the ice maker from the refrigerator to access the mold and heater assembly. This is a genuine replacement part.

Normally easy to repair, But leave it to professionals.
MY makers ice mold was leaking, so I ordered a new one. I received the part and proceeded to dismantle the old unit. Screws holding the face on were SO HARD to remove. Tried several sized screwdrivers, and stripped the head while removing. THEN trying to replace them was JUST as difficult and then getting them ti tighten ALL THE WAY down was impossible. I thought I got em fully screwed in , but the ice maker has quit making ice all together
Caution: If your maker is old, may want a professional to replace...
I will now have to replace the entire unit, just to get ice.
Savings: $0
Cost of ice mold: $~80
Cost of new unit: $125
Total COST $300
Is it worth it?? Was not to me.

Works great
The original part was leaking due to the coating wearing off, water was leaking on the ice bin below making a solid chunk. Watched the video sent with the confirmation e-mail on how to replace the worn out part and it was an easy repair. The model refrigerator in the video was not the same as mine but it was easy the figure out the procedure. Threw out the first two ice batches and now it works perfectly.

A perfect replacement and the ice maker works great!
Just what we needed. Literally we have no experience repairing appliances and we're not handy at all.
Using PartSelect and watching YouTube videos about how to replace the ice maker probably saved us hundreds of dollars and certainly extended the life of our 15+ year-old fridge.
I wish the ice maker was a little less expensive, but the alternative would be calling a repair person and probably paying $300 or more so I can't complain.

Great part worked as I expected.
Repair video is a general view of the ice maker and the repair. Your particular refrig and the placement of the ice maker may vary from the video. Pay particular attention to the harness and the manner in which the moving parts fit together into the ice mold. DO NOT FORCE ANY OF THE PARTS INTO PLACE. All of the ice maker parts should and will reinstall easily if u take care to note each as u remove them from the broken unit. I would suggest applying a small amount of heat to the conductive adhesive to soften it before pressing the control unit into place and securing with the screws.DO NOT OVER HEAT IT.

Worked like a charm
The part came quickly as advertised. Was not exactly the same as the OEM but fit perfectly just the same.
The live tutorial was spot on and saved me a lot of time and aggravation. This process saved me from spending $2K on a new refrigerator.

Flaking ice mold.
Easy, just removed the ice dispenser and the left support for the dispenser so I could get to the bottom screw easier. Three screws held the mold in place. The bottom screw had to be removed completely, but I just loosened the two top screws and lifted the mold out away from the wall and then disconnected the wiring. The end cover snapped
... Read more of easy with a screw driver. I then removed the three screws holding the motor. then pulled the motor off.(the next square part under the cover. I did this before I realized that I could use a small screw driver and stick it into the holes to remove the mold and not mess with the outer screws. After I removed the mold, I replaced the new mold into position, without putting the white forky looking part back on so I had to take the two screws out and put the part in place before attaching the motor back to the mold. Everything went back together just like a charm. The ice maker is working good, easy job. Gone golfing now.

The coating on the ice mold came off and ice wouldn't come out.
I removed the ice maker, saw the problem, took the ice maker apart and ordered a new mold. I reassembled it with the new mold and it now makes ice but the control arm remains up after each ice dump. I plan to take the ice maker back out when we leave (we are snow birds in Florida) and see if the arm is properly placed.

One screw stuck
Had to widen screw access hole in motor frame enough to use the phillips bit with my 12V impact driver. That worked perfectly. My ice machine does not make ice or get water to it will this fix it
For model number MFI2269vew
Hello Don, Thank you for the question. I suggest filling the ice maker with a glass of water. If it makes ice as normal you may need to replace the Water Inlet Valve, PartSelect Number: PS2069865. If it still does not make ice, you may have a detective ice maker, PartSelect Number: PS11749922. Unfortunately the Ice Mold will not fix this issue. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
My ice maker begin making a clicking noise. I found that there was ice cubes blocked.I removed the old cubes and tried operation again this time water froze in tray. i removed ice maker defrosted and reinstalled. no luck have same problem. the video's that i have seen all show the ice maker for this model mounted inside the frig my ice maker is mounted in the top of the door. what model ice maker would i need and will that correct problem?
For model number wsf26c2exw01
Hi Jerry, thank you for your question. I have linked the correct ice maker for your appliance down below. There are two parts that you should check for this issue. The first part to test would be your water inlet valve. The valve has two solenoids that control either the dispenser or the ice maker. Even if your dispenser is working the ice maker solenoid may not be and vise versa. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. If that part is testing correctly then you should look into your ice maker being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
Hello Warren, Thank you for the question. Unfortunately the ice Maker water level can not be adjusted. For more specialized assistance or to speak with someone about this, I would suggest calling the manufacturer of the appliance directly. We hope this helps.
