Microwave Door Handle Replacement
We initially repaired rather than replace our microwave door handle when it first broke because vendors wanted $75 for an 8”piece of plastic! The epoxy repair was virtually invisible and outlasted the other original end of the handle, but the break this time on the other end was not going to work with the epoxy repair. Partselect had the part and shipped it out within a couple of days.
The repair was easy and took 5 minutes. Some instructions indicated that I needed to remove the door, but that was unnecessary. I simply used a putty knife to pry loose one end of the inside trim piece to expose the screws for the door handle. I then removed the screws and saved them for the new handle. The new handle fit perfectly and once the original screws were installed, I snapped back in the inside trim and was done.
I’ll give PartSelect a 5 for service, but I wasn’t happy about the price for a plastic handle.

My handle broke months ago and I was able to glue it back on. Then a few weeks ago it broke again so knew I had to replace it. Thank you partselect for having exactly what I needed, shipped quickly and provided instructions on how to install it!

Broken handle
Remove the door by lifting up the hinge side so that the two hinge pins disengage from the steel hinge brackets. This can be a bit fiddly so just keep wiggling the door until one of them pops off. Remove the plastic cover trim piece that surrrounds the window, exposing the phillips head screws that secure the door to the handle.
... Read moreRemove the screws to un-install the old handle, they are deep set so if they fall out of the door you will need needle nose pliers to pout them back into the door. Set teh new handle in place and tighten the screws down snuggly. Retrace your steps... snap the plastic trim back in place and reset teh door on it's hinges (once again this can be a bit fiddly so take your time.
