Ice auger work, but ice doesn’t fall through door. Door not activating.
On this model, access is very easy. The tray slides forward, and then lifting up with a little force at the back of it clears a stop, allowing it to slide out. This exposes two Philips/sq2 screws that hold the faceplate in place. The faceplate swings out and is lifted off the top edge. Disconnect the wire harness and set aside. Trace the cable from the door motor to the control board. Disconnect the cable and fish up behind the facing material. Remove screws holding the dispenser door mechanism. On that assembly, remove the screws holding the motor to the mechanism. Replace the motor. Put the mechanism back in place engaging the metal actuator arm in the door. Fish the cable down to the control board and plug in. Plug the faceplate wiring harness back in, and reinstall the faceplate. Secure with two screws and replace the tray. Done.

Ice wouldn't dispense from the door.
Simple. Removed the outer ice/water dispenser cover with two screws on the bottom, then removed the ice door mechanism and replaced the small sealing door and door motor. Reassembled and tested . Works perfect. Replacing the door was neccessary as the foam gasket was worn and probably leaking air even though the motor was the real problem. I would absolutely recommend changing the door anytime you have to replace any other part. PartSelect is amazing...ordered the parts on Friday, had them in-hand on Sunday...all for less than $3.00 shipping. Will do business with again.

Is there a way to tell if it is the dispenser door of the motor? The auger motor is turning. The door will not come open when you try to dispense.

My icemaker makes ice but will not dispense. The auger turns but the door to dispense ice does not open. Your online help suggests that the door motor may be bad, and to test it for continuity with a multimeter. I detached the motor wiring from the circuit board, and measured resistance between the black and red leads, which I presumed was the power and ground. I got 48.1 ohms of resistance. The other colored wires did not register any ohms. Does this mean the motor (!PartSelect Number PS11749796, Manufacturer Part Number WPW10184813) is bad or could it be the circuit board? Do I need to order a motor to see if that fixes the problem? Suggestions?

CORRECTION: I get 96 ohms connection the black wire with both the yellow and beige wires. I think I sent this question a few minutes ago before I realized my mistake. I tried to sign up for an account but was unsuccessful, told to try again later. My icemaker makes ice but will not dispense. The auger turns but the door to dispense ice does not open. The button on my ice dispenser is very hard to push. the water button you just touch and water comes out but the ice you have to like practically muscle it. there’s nothing wrong with the pad itself and the inside works when you do get it but you almost have to find like a sweet spot, what part would I be needing to replace?

The ice dispenser door opens intermittently, crushed ice gets backed up behind the dispenser door. It may open 5 or 6 times in a row then not work for 2 or 3 attempts. Could this be the dispenser door motor? Thank you for your assistance.

Hello Mark, thank you for your question. Yes, the most likely cause of that door not opening each time is the motor Part Number: PS11749796. We would also recommend checking the Connector, Door Bracket Part Number: PS11740266 to be sure its connecting the lever to the motor and activating the motor each time. I hope this helps!
