My Kenmore washing machine doesn't perform a cycle advance. When it starts, it usually stops with the tub full of water. I need to manually advance the selector to rinse settings and spins cycles to get the laundry to complete a full cycle. Therefore, i believe the selector switch is likely faulty. Comments?

Hello David, thank you for your question. Since you are able to manually change the cycles from fill, to agitate, to rinse, to spin, the most likely issue causing that is the timer PartSelect Number: PS11742067. The timer controls most of the operations of the washer: water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences. Good luck with your repair!

Hi James,
Thank you for your question. If you are setting your washer to different water settings and you are getting a full load, then you will likely need to replace the water pressure hose. This is the hose that tells your appliance if your tub is at the desired water level. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Cycle stops at rinse, doesn't drain, will only fill and wash. None of the other cycles work. Thanks

Hi Carol, thank you for your question. I would suggest you check your lid switch assembly. That part may be malfunctioning just after your wash cycle so it will not go into the spin and drain. If that part is not the issue then you may need to look at your timer. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My washer overfilled with water. I tried to turn the knob and advance to the spin cycle and pump the water out, but it would not spin. Is there something wrong with the cycle select switch? How can I get my washer to spin?

Hello Mark, Thank you for the question. You can first try to test the Pressure switch, PartSelect Number PS3408073 for continuity. This part is able to sense the water level in the tub. When the water reaches the desired level, this switch stops the water from flowing in the tub and the washing program begins. You can also check the hose going to the switch for blockages. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
We set the cycle selector switch, but when the machine starts it is agitating and then we hear it start to fill. When it is done it doesn't appear to have removed as much of the water as it used to.

Hi Vickie. I recommend getting a multi-meter and testing the cycle selector switch, door switch ect;. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.

My Whirlpool washer is filling and draining at the same time. It will eventually start the wash cycle but doesn't advance to the spin cycle unless I manually move the knob forward. I have been told the atc switch is bad. Does that sound like it would fix the problem?
For model number LSN2000PW2
Hello Linda, Thank you for the question. Your washer drain hose could be causing a siphoning effect. Check to see if your washing machine drain hose is pushed too far into the stand pipe in the wall. There needs to be an air gap and by having the drain pipe pushed too far there is no air gap. This creates a vacuum or siphoning affect and the water is pulled out of the washer as it fills with water. Hope this helps!

My Kenmore top load washer fills fine, then makes a ticking sound once it tries to start the agitating cycle. Once it moves through that cycle it will drain and spin. It just will not do anything on the agitation cycle. Motor coupler has been replaced as well as the dog clips in agitator and still ticking but not agitating!
Hello Breanna and thanks for writing.
We would be happy to do some research to find you the correct parts. However, we need your model number and the brand name to locate any information on this. Model numbers can be short or long and could have a mixture of numbers and letters. It is possible that part #11749403 might work with your unit; however, as we do not have your model number in our database we can not guarantee the fit. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
