Product Description

Door Gasket Specifications

The oven door gasket on your range functions as a seal between the warm interior of your oven, and the outside. It prevents heat from fleeing your oven when the door is closed. Before making any repairs to your oven you should make sure to wear work gloves to protect your hands, and give your oven time to cool. The only tool you will need to make this repair is a pair of needle nose pliers. This oven door gasket comes with built in retaining clips; if any retaining clips from your old gasket are left in the oven make sure to remove them before installing your new gasket.

Worn Burner Head Screws
Wanted to deep clean the range, but popped the worn screw heads on both the burner mounts and igniters embedded in the chassis. The way the range is designed, the bolts extend through the glass top and into the burner orifice. The bolts were unable to be extracted so replacement was the only option outside of a small third party machine shop. The double burner is discontinued and impossible to find, will replace this "High-End" POS when we remodel.

Removed Burner Heads
Disconnected igniter Leads
Extended range to remove glass top
Removed glass top mounting screws
CAREFULLY Removed Glass Top (REPLACEMENT = $800 Min)
Removed affected burner orifices
Tracked down parts list and maintenance manuals

The electric clock that controls many settings for the stove quit working.
Because there were " 11 " pins/clips on the clock/control unit, I just disconnected one clip, at a time, from the old clock and connected the wire to the new clock unit. Before I knew it, I was finished and the CLOCK and settings were back to working! GOOD NEWS, I did did have to buy a new $1,700.00 to fix the bad clock problem, like I was told that I would have to do by the repairman. I found the part on YOUR website, when the repairman could not find one for me on his 'go to' websites and suppliers. THANK YOU FOR HAVING THE PART.

Oven heat loss, door gasket needed replacement
The entire "project" took me less than 3 minutes, and required no tools at all! First, the saleswoman over the phone pointed me to the correct product for my problem ($30 less than what I thought I needed), and it arrived at my home within 4 days. Then, it was just a matter of pulling off the old gasket, and snapping the new one in place! Simple!

Filter was coming apart, door gasket was dirty and fraying
Opened the range grid, popped in the new filter, seconds after that I pulled out the old door gasket, put in the new with its little poppers and that's it. Both jobs took me less that 3,minutes. Great.Easy install for both products.

Door gasket was hard and brittle from baked-on grease - heat leaking around door
Waited for my husband to do it, but when he didn't, I tried it. Very simple! Just pulled the old gasket out of the pinch pin holes in the door, then replaced it. Tuck the one end into the hole at the bottom of the door, then match up the little pinch pins on the gasket with the holes in the door - matches up perfectly! Be sure to tuck in each of pinch pins till they sort of "snap" into each hole. Took me 5 minutes, tops. Works great now, no more lost heat around the edge of the door.

oven would not come up to temp. that was set
Replacing the sensor kit and door gasket was no problem at all, however the baking element was A different story.
The problem was not the fault of the replacement part, but
the removal of the element to be replaced. The phillips head screws stripped out very easy and getting them out without damage to the interior finish of the oven was time consuming and challenging, but patients, and perservrance
win and so did I. Oven now works great

Needed to replace the oven door gasket/seal
Removed door from oven by pulling up at the first stop point after opening the door. Removed the outer shell by removing 5 screws. Disassembled the inner door by removing 6 screws. Be careful with the insulation blanket (fits in a molded portion of the inner door). Glass windows can be removed (for cleaning) via a couple screws. Old gasket/seal is held in-place via spring-clips; just squeezed each clip, pushed each thru their respective holes, and pulled off the worn-out gasket. New gasket snapped in-place by pushing the clips thru the respective holes. Reverse the process to reassemble the door. You can do this job in 15-20 minutes. Took us longer because it took some elbow-grease (and patience) to clean the crud off the glass windows.

Oven door hinges broken
With the back removed, replacing the lamp receptacle is straight-forward. Likewise, the door gasket is very easy. However, in order to replace the hinges, you have to remove the burner glass top (screws underneath the front lip), and inner and outer side panels. Also the supplied hinges mounting holes were not threaded so I had to use my own bolts, lock-washers and nuts in order to attach them. Total time, including a bit of cleaning, was 5 hours.

My wife destroyed the oven door seal with oven cleaner...
I ordered the part one afternoon. It arrived before noon the next day. Then I simply removed the old seal (with about 2 dozen spring clips). Inserted the new part by carefully inserting the new seal into its corresponding hole at each end and then worked my way around the seal while inserting each attached spring clip into its corresponding hole.

I am replacing the old gasket with a new one. The old gasket is fitted between two other door parts making it difficult to pull part loose without removing several screws in the door. Are there instructions on how to replace an old original oven door gasket that came without tension clips? How difficult is this diy project?

See my response to your question below.I did as you suggested; checked the following part ps1570174 with a multimeter and it was good. i also replaced part number ps11745985, electronic oven control and the oven still does not turn on. the left hand side of the touchpad; buttons labeled; bake, broil, favorites on/off do not beep. the setup on/off beeps but you can set the time. the remaining all seem to all work i.e. fan, timer 1&2 work all the number buttons work. can you offer me some thoughts as to what parts i need to order? answer: hi frank, thank you for your question. before we can assist you further, is your stove displaying any error messages? was there a power failure prior to the oven not working properly? thank you and have a great day! response: no there are no error messages displayed and yes from time to time we do have power outages. i do have a whole house surge protection system.
For model number JES9860CAS02

Hello Frank, Thank you for your follow up. At this point in time if you have not replaced the touch pad itself then you I suggests doing that. The sensors on the touch pad could be worn out so it cannot communicate with the board.
