Kenmore side by side no ice maker. How does the linkage on the air diffuser work. Does it open and close the damper. If so can it be part open. What controls the linkage rod?

Hi Alan,
Thank you for the question. The rod is attached the adjusting bracket. The bracket is linked up with the Air Control knob on the far left. When you turn the knob it turns the bracket that will push on the rod to open the Air Diffuser Assembly. You can open the diffuser part way, depending on how far you tun the knob.

My freezer gets super frozen but refrigerator term is too low

We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: air diffuser assembly, defrost control board, bi-metal defrost thermostat, the temperature control thermostat, evaporator fan motor, and the cycling thermostat. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

My frig has a meat temperature control and the adjustment lever is frozen in one position near colder setting and i dont see it listed on your site. But if i turn the thermostat up to keep other stuff cold then the food and veges in the two crispers freeze. Could that meat temperature control be the problem?

Thank you for your question. It could be. I would suggest checking that part and also checking your defrost thermostat as well if your temperature control is working. You can test both of these parts with a multi meter. Good luck with your repair.

Unable to set the cold-control to a sufficiently cold setting.
Linkage on the cold-control mechanism in the air diffuser assembly was broken. It was necessary to access the diffuser assembly from both the refrigerator and freezer sides of the unit. Re-connected the linkage between the diffuser and cold-control assembly; remounted the two combined assemblies . . . refrigerator working nicely now.
