After final rinse cycle, there are drips of water entering the tub from somewhere in top portion of the back of the tub. If left for a long period of time, the tub will fill with water. Not good, if you’re gone for a length of time. Would probably have to turn off the hot and cold water at the shut off valves to be safe. I am assuming that the water inlet valve is bad. Would you agree with that assumption?
For model number XXRTW4440VQ
Hi Bill, Thank you for the question. Yes I would agree that you need to replace the valve. This is a common symptom with defective water inlet valves. Hope this helps!

Hi when i turn the washer on and set it to cold it will not fill but set it to hot and it works started after i took the screens out to clean them.
For model number RTW4440VQ2
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your question. It sounds like you will have to replace your water inlet valve. The screens inside of the valve are actually not supposed to be removed. Because then you run the risk of debris getting inside the solenoid and jamming it up. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

This problem didn't start until i cleaned the screens on the hose and removed the inlet strainers on the washer, now my washer won't stop filling with cold water
For model number WTW5200VQ2
Hi Amanda,
Thank you for your inquiry. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like you may have to replace the water inlet valve with thermistor as there may be an issue with the screens. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hi, i have a Roper wpw10144820. The water has a slow drip into the washer when it's not in operation. It looks like the inlet valve could be the issue, but i wanted to check with you first. Thanks in advance for your assistance!
For model number WPW10144820
Hi Wendi,
Thank you for your question. If the washer is leaking when it is not in use, then the issue is the water inlet valve and you will need to replace it. The reason this is happening is a part inside the water inlet valve has malfunctioned. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I have Admiral washing machine that is filling very slowly. I only have cold water for it, is there another inlet water valve for cold i can used? If yes can you give me part number?
For model number ATW4475XQ0
Hello Bill, thank you for your question. If the appliance is filling very slowly the Water Inlet Valve with Thermistor WPW10144820 would have to be replaced. Unfortunately, there is no way to replace just the cold valve portion of the valve. This is the only replacement valve that will function properly on your unit. I hope this helps!

Washer starts filling at normal speed but then fills extremely slowly. Changing water level or water temperature does not change the problem.
For model number WTW5200VQ2
Hi Richard,
Thank you for your question. If the water is filling slowly into the washing machine, the issue is likely with the water inlet valve. Check the screens on the valve to see if there are any debris on them. The screens are delicate and may be damaged if clean. So if there is debris, the valve may need to be replaced. Also check the hoses also as they may be clogged as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My washer will not fill with water. It first began during rinse cycle only, now will not fill at all. Once the washer has been filled with water (using buckets) it will run entire wash cycle. (filling again for rinse cycle using buckets) it will finish the washing cycle specified on dial knob. But i am not sure which part to get. My father replaced the lid switch but did not solve the problem. Is it the water inlet switch i need to replace or the cycle dial control knob.
For model number ETW440WQ0
Hello Jessica, Thank you for the question. This does sound like an issue with a defective water inlet valve and it would need to be replaced. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Water temperature does not go to hot. After turning it a few times it goes to hot?
For model number wtw5300vw
Hello Omer,
Thanks for your question. We would advise testing the water inlet valve with a multi-meter along with the temperature switch to see if they have continuity. Replace either of them if they do not show continuity. If those parts test correctly, consider examining the pump itself for any signs of damage and replace it if needed.
I hope this helps.
Washer fills to correct water level in wash cycle, but only 1/3 in rinse. Drain has good air flow, no vacuum siphoning is occurring. I assume there is only one level sensor/pressure switch, so I'm at loss to understand the issue.
For model number RTW4440XQ0
Hi Troy, Thank you for the question. I suggest replacing the Timer,PartSelect Number PS11750181.The timer controls most of the operations of the washer: water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences.Hope this helps!

No Cold Water
Be careful to make it a point to remember how you take things apart and in what order. If you have a cell phone take pictures as you go so you can refer back if you forget how something was. From the back of your washer, you will find two Phillip head screws, one on the left and one on the right, which hold the top controls panel in place, back these two screws out until the panel becomes disconnected. Remove the four nut driver screws from the back panel, two at the top, two at the bottom. At the top of the washer under the loosened control panel you will see two brass finished snap brackets. Pop these loose with a screw driver, lift up the back panel slightly, note how it is held in place at the bottom so you can get it back in place correctly when reassembling. Now you are in! Unplug the old unit and pop it off the panel. Plug in the new one and reverse the way you took it all apart. Hope this was helpful!

Easy repair, saved me from buying new
Exactly what I needed. My washing machine wasn't running hot water when "hot" was selected and once I switched out this unit it started changing temps based on the temp selector again. Very simple process, can be done with basic tools. Saved me from calling a repair man or going out to buy a new machine.
