Just bought a house and the micro wave does not heat and makes a load hum when operating. The prior owner did not vent it to the out side and the grease build up on the bottom of the unit was severe. I've cleaned it and will vent to outside but have to get the sound and no heat problem solved first. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Doug, thank you for writing. Both of these issues are most likely due to a faulty Magnetron, this part number PS11748664. Good luck with your repair!

Microwave operates but does not heat

Hi John, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the diode,Part Number: PS4235633. You will need a multi meter to determine if it is defective. If the diode is good you may have a defective Magnetron, Part Number: PS11748664. Hope this helps!

Microwave is making an intermittent electrical sounding sputtering sound, light something about to short out, yet it still heats the food ok. Is that the magnetron on its way to failure soon or something else? It is 12-13 years old.

Hello Douglas, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the Stirrer Cover, Part Number: PS4234000. If the cover is damaged or wore out it can not cover the motor and cause the sound you are hearing. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
