What is the difference between parts PS11748580and ps2177522? I am looking for a black freezer door handle. When i search, both handles come up. Thanks.

I am interested in upgrading the handle of my Amana abb2527deb freezer from mfg. P/n wp67005380 to p/n wpw10119668, the former p/n uses a widowmaker sharkbite clip system (i'm being sarcastic although I have the hand wounds to show for it...), which tends to come loose over time and is very difficult to remove and re install, and can legitimately endanger your hands. I have no experience with the latter p/n, but it seems to be much better designed with a keyhole engagement that looks like it wouldn't take a finger with it if the handle slips during installation (in fact the newer setup looks like it would be impossible to experience the slips I have with the old setup.). I'm wondering if anybody has any experience in executing this upgrade? the old handle attaches to clips that are screwed into the freezer door. If the center to center dimensions are identical, I wonder if simply installing the appropriate screw into the door would accommodate the "keyhole" handle. thanks for any feedback you can offer regarding this.

How do i put new handle on freezer door

Hello George, Thank you for your inquiry. Remove the handle by pulling it carefully to the left to release it from the brackets. Slide the new handle right back onto the mounting brackets. Good Luck with your repair!
