My stir switch position does not work. Will this part correct the problem?
For model number K5SS
Hello Cindy, Thank you for the question. The Speed Control Plate controls the speed settings for the mixer. If you only have one speed or if some speed settings are not working, this part will fix the issue. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

My mixer won’t stay in the off position. I have to hold it in the off position when i plug it in, then when i let go, it pops into at least second or third. It will function at all speeds, but i have to hold it in position if i want to use a lower speed. Will this part fix the problem?
For model number KSM95GR
Hi Phil, thank you for your question. You will likely need to replace this part or the speed lever itself. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I only have high speed. Does this part fix my problem?
For model number KSM75
Hello Kathleen, Thank you for the question. If the appliance only works on one speed, it is recommended the Speed Control Plate, PS11748567 and is the most common issue. It is also suggested to check the Speed Governor, PartSelect Number PS11753017 and the Phase Control Board, PartSelect Number PS11752886. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
Hello Terry and thank you for writing.
It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty speed control assembly PS11748567, you should check for signs of damage, and replace if necessary, also check the power cord for damage just in case. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
My artisan mixer turns on right away when i plug it in and only has one speed. When i move the speed control to a higher speed or off or on it just stays at the same speed. In order to shut it off i have to i plug it. Please let me know what i need to fit this machine. It’s only a year old. Thank you

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your question. If you are unable to adjust the speed on your mixer, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the speed governor, the speed control plate and the speed control lever. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!
Our mixer does not hold a constant speed at low and med speeds. It is variable. What part controls this aspect of the mixer.

I have a kitchen aid mixer model ksm120er. It stopped working suddenly during use and tripped the main fuse. I suspect the control assembly. Will this part wpw10119326 work on it? Thanks

Mixer only had 2 speeds with the smell of electrical burning.
This mixer was given to me 8-10 yrs ago with only 2 speeds (cant believe i waited this long to fix it). Repair went good, wasn't sure what i should replace so i replaced Control board, control plate, governor, grease in the gears and the transmission gasket. I first took any and ALL measurements for any screws on the control plate, this will help when you set your mixer speeds when its all back together. When installing the new governor i used a 10mm socket and a mallet to seat it all the way till it stops on the set pin. installed the new control board, with thermal grease on the back of the plate(very important). Didn't need to replace the grease in the gears, but i figured since i was in there id replace it. (No smells and all gears work) I used it to ground 5lbs of elk into burger (speed 4) after repairs and it worked great. Still have about 15lbs left to do and itll do it with out braking a sweat. Maybe i should open up a repair shop to fix these suckers...lol its that easy. What really helped with the repairs is the youtube video from Partselect. Second to none with a step by step on how to replace and repair just about anything on your mixer. Good deal, if i need to replace anything else i know where to go! Thanks
use your phones to take pic of how the wiring is to be reconnected, take pleanty from all angles
repair is farly simple just take your time, First attempted i didnt replace the speed covernor looked ok but had problems getting slow end to work properly decided to go ahead and install since i purchased it also and walia took care of the cogging problem. Good Luck
Literally the whole top of this stand mixer had to be taken apart. With the help of U-tube! We realized the silver strip was removable and there where screws underneath. We figured we would replace both parts while it was all taken apart. We cleaned the mixer and added some grease where necessary. I now have a 25 year old new mixer. Thanks for having our parts and guiding us with a diagram of the unit. Very helpful.
BOARD-PHAS POINTS WORN AWAY AND 1 BRUSH STUCK AGAINST COIL
Took out stuck brush assy cleaned it and the coil and reinstalled it. Googled internet to see how to best remove and replace Board-Phase as no instructions came with parts. Actual work replacing parts took only a few minutes. The main work was tearing down the working head to get to the parts and putting it back together. Also had to google how to adjust speed control plate to the correct speed. It helps to have patience and instructions.
Mixer would only run Full Fast. Could not determine cause or fault.
1. Removed the mixer back plate Cover. 2. Removed the Speed Control Plate and retained spring, wires and ground wire. 3. Removed the old Speed Control Plate screws. Noted Control Plate pitted contact. 4. Removed old Triac Phase Control Board. 5. Removed old Governor. 6. Installed new Governor. 7. Installed new Phase Control Board. 8. Installed new Speed Control Plate and retaining spring. 9. Reattached Speed Control Plate wires. 10. Adjusted Speed Control Plate Screws and set mixer speeds from Stir to maximum settings. 11. Replaced Motor Brushes on left and right side of mixer. 12. Reinstalled mixer back plate cover.
Pulled off end cover. Used the how-to video's to show me how to remove the (3) components (watch out when it comes to removing the spring). Removed all (3) components (one issue was the black cardboard seal, which because of its age broke. Hindsight tells me that I should have purchased a replacement seal along with the (3) new parts. Fixed the broken part of the seal with scotch tape). Installed all new parts with the help of the video's and put the cover back on. Even with the new parts, the mixer would not run. Come to find out, after I took it to an appliance repair person, that someone had pulled both brushes and put them back in improperly. I could not find a how-to video that showed me how to de-install/re-install the brushes properly. I assume that was because new brushes were no longer available for purchase. At any rate, when the brushes were put in properly, everything worked. The repair person also adjusted the (2) screws on the speed control plate so that when you change the speeds via the lever, it all works properly. I didn't find a how-to video covering those adjustments either.
I removed the excess of grease to clear all parts. Then I installed new mechanical parts. Finally, I installed all electrical parts. I followed a logical sequence of removing and installing steps. Tip: Never remove parts without a logical order of sequence.
The mixer was given to my wife. Sometimes it would work or not.
When I took the back cover off I found two parts that "could" be the problem. The speed control plate was cracked which explained the spotty working. I ordered both parts and installed them very easily. The parts fit perfectly and resulted in the mixer working perfectly. I can't say enough about the excellent parts. They were perfect.

Promp service.
The part was received quickly as promised. Installation was relatively easy. However adjusting the unit proved to be very frustrating. Barely touching any of the 3 screws made the speed very erratic. I was able to get constant speeds at all but level one, where the unit surged. Apparently there is more wrong with the mixer than just this part.

How to get to the speed control plate
The repair was easy when I figured out how to get to the switch. You only have to remove the one screw on the cover at the back end of the mixer. Be careful. There is a spring that you have to disconnect. It is down by the bottom screw of the switch. This screw also is an adjustment screw for the switch. Hope it helps you do this repair. I had never done it before.

Repair was easy!
The part worked great....the only problem I had was adjusting the governor for proper speed, some directions for that would have made the job easier.
