Product Description

Ceramic Fuse - 20 amp Specifications

This microwave fuse is just over an inch in length. It has a white ceramic center, and metal on either end. This is a twenty amp 250-volt fuse, and is used to power your microwave. If your microwave will not heat properly, will not turn on, or the touch pad becomes unresponsive, there could be a faulty fuse which should be replaced. Remember, since this part contains an electrical charge, before you replace the fuse from your microwave, make sure that the power is disconnected from the unit. This part is sold individually. NOTE: Make sure your microwave is unplugged, and your capacitor is discharged before you begin this repair. A capacitor stores large amounts of electricity even after your microwave is unplugged.

No power to any microwave functions
Access is via RT. SIDE Panel as you face microwave. There are three screws on the bottom right edge to loosen. After that the side panel slips down and off. the fuse is located in the rear near where the power cord comes in. It is the white ceramic tube 1/4" in dia. and 1-1/2" long. Pull it out like any fuse and replace with new one. Reassemble and you are done!

Microwave went pop and nothing would work.
I mistakenly thought I had to remove the microwave to get to the back, not so. I would have had access to what I needed to unscrew; but I have to admit the hassle of taking it down and putting it back equals having to work on it attached to the shelf-your call on how you do this. I unscrewed the front top to remove the vent piece that is across the top front of the microwave. This will reveal the control panel screw. (While you have the vent removed you might want to clean the vent and the exposed filter.) carefully lift and pull out control panel. I unplugged a piece as the wires were tied tight. It will not completely detach, so carefully tip it back from exposed insides. The fuse is not clear but white with silver ends so look in upper right for it. I popped it out and replaced it. Replugged the wired part to cover and carefully fit tabs in and slide down to secre. Replace screw, replace vent piece and secure screws on top of microwave. I plugged it in to test before putting it back above my stove.

microwave oven blew fuse
First I removed upper front grill by removing two Philips head screws on top and pulling off. This exposed the Philips head screw which holds control panel in place. After removing screw I pushed up on panel and it came off to expose fuse. With needle nose pliers I removed old fuse and again with pliers held new fuse in position. With the help of a bladed screwdriver, I pushed new fuse into holder, then replaced panel, screw and grill. This took less than 15 minutes even as one of the wires on control panel pulled out of connection and took some time to locate where to reconnect, otherwise was an easy fix

Died while heating lasagna
Removed 4 small star head screws from back of microwave, lifted body off, removed blown fuse and replaced with new one (found where cord enters). This model is stainless inside and out and I like it a lot. It is also sold by Daewoo and a few other manufacturers.

Where is the fuse located? The microwave lights up but no power
For model number rrl-8x
PartSelect logo
Hello Garrett, Thank you for the question. The fuse is located next to the Capacitor behind the control panel. Make sure your microwave is unplugged, and your capacitor is discharged before you begin this repair. A capacitor stores large amounts of electricity even after your microwave is unplugged. Hope this helps!

I had engaged the cleaning cycle on the oven which is part of this combo unit and sits below the microwave. My wife decided to heat a up of water while the cleaning cycle was in progress. She claims the microwave started for a few seconds when the controls went blank and the microwave stopped working. The oven continued with the cleaning cycle which completed normally. No circuit breakers were tripped in the breaker box. I reset the circuit breaker for the appliance after the cleaning cycle had finished but the microwave continues to be unresponsive. The display on just the microwave is blank. The oven seems to work fine. Since the heat from the cleaning cycle vents through the microwave vents i am wondering if the fuse got too hot when the microwave was turned on a just blew. I am assuming the microwave and oven have separate fuses. If you believe it is a fuse how do i get to it to replace it. If not any suggestions.

Hello Edward, Thank you for the question. I would agree the fuse may have blown thinking the Microwave was over heating. We suggest replacing the fuse. Good luck with the repair.

How do i get to the fuse - my microwave is attached to the over and installed as one piece into the wall -jmc8130dds. Are there any diagrams available that shows where the fuse is and how to get it in a combo unit? I assume i am going to have to pull the whole unit out of the cabinet.

Hello and thank you for writing. Yes, you are right, you would have to take the unit out, then take off the cabinet. You will see the fuse close to where the power cord comes in from the back of the unit, there should be a small board onto which the fuse is clipped on. We hope this information helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

This is a built-in wall unit above an oven. While the oven was being self-cleaned (hot!), the microwave was activated but went completely blank after a few seconds. I purchased the replacement ceramic breaker from you but don’t know where/how to look for the circuit breaker location in the microwave?

After 1-2 minutes of operating unit powers off. Have pulled out from wall and push reset switch on back of unit. Will power back on, but will shut off again after approx. 1 minute. Any suggestions on what may be causing this and if it can be fixed?
