This part supplies water to refrigerator components that require water, such as the ice maker and water dispenser. If you notice a leak coming from your refrigerator, the plastic tubing that feeds your water and ice dispenser might need to be replaced. This part is made of clear plastic and is 1/4 inch thick, and 8 1/2 feet long. Make sure to disconnect power to the refrigerator and shut off the water supply prior to installing this part. Safely store any perishable food items that could deteriorate while the power to the refrigerator is disconnected. Work gloves are recommended to protect your hands during this installation.

How do i stop the water from leaking into the bottom of the fridge and running out onto the floor? Thanks, ken
For model number MTB1948DR
Hello Kenneth, thank you for your question. The first thing we would recommend is to defrost the unit and check for any clogs in the drain tube PartSelect Number: PS11743276. If the drain tube is clogged or water has frozen in the unit the water will collect at the bottom and leak out of the door onto the floor. I hope this helps!

When i turn on the ice maker to start making ice, it will make ice but the water keeps dripping in the ice bin and freezes the ice and the auger will not work to dispense the ice. Need to know what is actually wrong and why the water keeps dripping in the ice bin. Thank you rich
For model number JCD2389GEB
Hello Richard, thank you for contacting us. That sounds like the solenoid in the ice maker is faulty. That is the part that control the water flow to the ice maker to prevent it from over flowing. The motor for your model ice maker is no longer available, you would need to replace the ice maker itself. Hope this helps!
Does this tubing fit the water dispenser tubing that feeds through the freezer door? I don't need the bracket, only the tubing. Easy fix, but hard to find the tubing.
For model number Whirlpool ED5FVGXWS01
Hello Louise, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, that part is not listed as a compatible part for your appliance. The tubing for the dispenser, that runs through the freezer door is part number Water Dispenser Fitting and Tube Assembly part number 8201537. This tubing is manufactured specifically for the dispenser and would be the correct measurements. Please enter the part number into the site for current price and availability. Good luck with your repair!

leak from back of refrigerator where water line enters ice compartment
replaced old water fill tube for ice maker because it would clog with frozen water which would result in leaking from back of refrigerator where water line for ice maker entered refrigerator. Parts arrived faster than anticipated from parts select. New part was made differently (up-graded) so that water would not freeze. removed old fill tube and replaced with new. replaced water tubing and secured. leak is no longer present and I do not anticipate further issues from this problem. Thanks Parts Select
The line going from the ice maker fill valve ruptured and leaked water on the floor. The outlet fitting for the ice maker water inside the freezer was plugged with ice which caused the pressure to build up in the line and rupture it. The discharge tube inside was full of ice because the ice maker fill valve was old and was leaking ever so slightly. This allowed water to exit into the discharge tube gradually and build up ice to the point of blocking the discharge tube.
Fridge Gasket - heated the gasket with hairdrier to reform shape from shipping. Tried loostening nuts all around, but when installing the top part first, had to remove the nuts in order to have sufficient space to install gasket. Then tightened top nuts, and proceeded to install side parts, removing the nuts as I went down. Once about half down, was able to finish installation without removing any more nuts - loosening was enough. Freezer tray - just slide it in. The only concern was the part deminsions were not correct. They showed the tray to be about 15", while my old tray was about 12". But when the tray arrived I was thankful that the new one matched the old one - 12". The diragram needs to be corrected. Icemaker tube - no problems.
