Product Description
Door Seal - Black Specifications
This is a door seal, and it is used in conjunction with your dishwasher. The seal may also be known as a door gasket and is black in color. The function of this part is to provide a waterproof blockage between the dishwasher tub and the outer edge of the door. If there is breakage in your part you will know quickly, as the most common symptom of needing to replace this piece is leakage from your dishwasher door. Once this piece has been installed it is best to close the dishwasher, and leave it in that position for several hours. This will allow this new seal to properly sit.

How do i tell if it the door seal gasket (black) or the inner foam seal in the bottom of the door that is causing the leak. It leaks out of the bottom right hand corner.
For model number MDB5600AWQ

Hi Kathy,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest taking a look at your door seal and perhaps to see if your appliance is level. Sometimes when your dishwasher gets unlevel, it will spray water against the part of the door where there is no seal. If everything looks find with your door seal I would suggest then checking your float switch to make sure that it is also working correctly and not letting your appliance over fill with water. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Installed new door seal and door won't latch shut Maytag dishwasher modle
For model number Mdb7600aww

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question. If you have just replaced the door gasket, the issue my be with the door latch. Make sure the connections for the door switches are in connected correctly and that the door latch is positioned as it should to allow for the proper closing of the door. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I am confused by the reference to series numbers. I thought i had the right part until i saw that. The problem i am wanting to solve is blackish slimy sludge at the base of the black rubber gasket/seal on both sides of the door. I clean it repeatedly but it returns right away. The dw doesn't leak to the outside. But also lots of dirtty bits around the inside of the door edges. So, a) am i buying the right solution to my problem, and b) do i have the correct part?
For model number MDBH965AWB

Hi Betsy,
Thank you for your question. Manufacturers often make changes to models, which can sometimes result in different parts being used for your model. For instance, a motor may be changed mid-year, which could mean that a different wiring harness has to be used. When a series number is shown on your appliance, you will need to identify what series your appliance belongs to. The series is the first few characters of your serial number. For example, if the first 2 numbers in your serial number are 12 and you see a series 10 and a series 14, you would choose series 10. You would never go higher than the first 2 numbers in your serial number. There is only one door seal listed under you model number, so that is the one you would purchase. The part number for it is PS11747684. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Door leaks
Replaced the door seal. Removed the old seal and gently stretched the new seal and pushed it into the channel. Snipped off about 2 inches excess seal. As far as the Inner Door Foam Insulation Strip goes, it was not as easy. To begin with, the old Foam Strip was attached to the door insulation and not the door. The attempt to remove the old Foam Strip from the insulation became cumbersome, so I just attached the new Foam Strip on top of the old Foam Strip. So far, after a few cycles, it appears that it corrected the leak.

Door leaking, handle broken
Door gasket was easy out and in using the white mark on the seal to line it up with the center. The latch came with the handle so I returned the extra latch assembly that I ordered. Super easy to install. Removed door screws, carefully lifted and set aside inside of door leaving wires attached. Reved wire from latchtch switches, attached wires to new latch, put in postion and reassembled.

Dishwasher leak from door seal
Door gasket fit in like a champ! No special tools required - just scissors to trim off the excess ends. Unfortunately this didn't correct the leak. The leak was caused by a Home Inspector who ran the dishwasher without soap. The soap has a defoamer in it. If you run the dishwasher without soap the water mixes with the surfactant in the jet dry and causes foam which results in a door leak. The foam also causes the pump to cavitate which is not healthy for the pump.

remove old seal, put in new - my 10 yr old could do it. Note - there is a white mark on the back of the seal indicating the middle so you can line it up when installing the new seal - makes it easier.

Dishwasher was leaking during wash cycle out the front door
Replaced the door gasket, inner foam strip and the bottom seals on the door. Unfortunately I broke the plastic door latch handle in the process and had to purchase a complete latch assembly too.

Dishwasher leaked out of bottom
I removed the old door seal -- it just slips right out. Then I inserted the new door seal. One thing I noticed on the old door seal and also in your photograph is that the last inch or two of the seal on both ends is kind of sliced in half perhaps to make it fit better in the corner. But we decided not to cut it yet and have been using it uncut as it arrived in the package. It is working great! No leaking! So we're not going to cut it. Thank you for offering this great service. It saved us a lot of money since we didn't call a repairman.

Open the door. Pull out the gasket. Clean the channel where the gasket is going. Find the middle of the gasket and pushed it in the channel. Done! I followed the instruction on the package that it came in.

Dishwasher gasket was easy to install and exactly what I needed
Dishwasher gasket was easy to install and exactly what I needed to stop it from leaking. The gasket was as described on the website and also easy to find when entering my dishwasher model. Thanks

Perfect
Ordered the door seal/gasket. Shipping was a little longer than I had hoped for. Mainly cause we were handwashing dishes. Pulled out the other one and easily installed the new one. Per recommendations, I let it sit with the door closed overnight to make sure it had a good seal. Monitored closely during first wash. No more leaks! So happy that I dont need to buy another dish washer. Thanks so much Parts Select!

Easy repair
I was frustrated with the maytag repair people when I asked for service. They told me 3 weeks and approximately $300 for labor. I ordered the part, took me all of 10 minutes to replace the seal. I need to replace the inner foam seal at at the bottom of the door and the dishwasher should be as good as new. I am really pleased.

Easy repair
Just pull out the old door seal and press in the new. Had to cut off about one inch of seal to make it fit. Better to long than to short.

Easy Repair -- worked as expected.
This was the second time I have ordered from PartSelect. Both times the parts came quickly, were what was expected, and installed easily.
