Next removed the control panel barrier (control panel part #6). Took picutre of items to be removed. Next removed the wires from the door switch, had to use needle nose

I was able to determine that it was the latch handle and the door switch that had gone bad. I removed the door panel and replaced the parts. Was very simple to repair.
I opened the dishwasher door, then used the Torx bit to remove the screws all around the edges of the door, and removed the inner part of the door. Then I removed the long metal plate at the part of the door farthest front (with the door open) and the large black plastic housing. The metal plate then became a useful tool to brace at an

One nut held the latch assembly to the door; I removed it with the nut driver. On the latch assembly, there are two small plastic catches that keep the latch from sliding out, I held those out of the way with a blade screwdriver and slid the latch out. The new latch then snapped into place, and I assembled the door again in the reverse sequence of disassembly.

The latch on our dishwasher broke, meaning we could not close the door or start the dishwasher.
We have a nine year old Maytag dishwasher. The handle latch is plastic and over time with the many repeated uses it cracked and broke. I went to the local appliance repair shop and found the part in their data base but it would take ten days to get and cost $22. My wife and I thought it might be time to get a new dishwasher but after
... Read more checking out prices at $500 or more, I decided to search on line and repair it myself. I found the part easily and quickly on Partselect.com and it was actually half the price of another internet dealer. The photographs helped me confirm I was buying the right part. It cost $6 plus shipping and I was amazed that it arrived in two days to California. It was easy to install, simply by removing the interior panel and slipping the new piece into place in the handle. The dishwasher works like new. Thank you, Partselect.com for a quick answer to our problem!

The latch was becoming very difficult to open being almost 10 years old
I had to remove the screws around the door frame and remove the side panels that attached the inside cover from the interior of the door. Once I removed it I could then unscrew the top cover that then allowed me to remove an inside cover for the internal electrical connections and the door latch was then open for repair. The electrical

When we try to open the door of the dishwasher it will not unlatch, won’t release. We have to pull it open. What part is needed to fix this?
For model number MDB4601AWE
Hello Ernie, Thank you for the question. I suggest removing the handle and the latch to see if there is a damaged part or if something is out of place. The most commonly replaced part is the handle, PartSelect Number PS11747644. Hope this helps!

Our Maytag dishwasher runs great when the door is closed. The door closes fine with a firm push on it. However, we can't open the door normally with the latch. We grasp the handle and pull straight up to get the door to open. When we grasp the handle to open the door, and pull up with the ends of our fingers under the handle, the latch does not open the door. What parts need to be purchased?

Wont run unless pressure applied to door. How do i figure out if its the latch or something else
For model number mdb26000aww
Hi Ryan,
Thank you for your question. If the door is not closing properly, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the door switches and holder assembly, the door spring linkage, the latch handle, the door spring, the door latch hook and the detergent cup lid spring. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
