No water from rotating lower spray arm or center spindle; soap dispenser lid would not open.
Had service man: stated I would need new motor/pump at $400 complete. I didn't like the interior of new dishwashers. Nothing to lose, so I verified that the motor was working; reviewed short PartSelect video. Ref: very helpful PartSelect assembly diagrams with parts list. THANKS PS! Removed two dish racks (top rack: extend fully and flip the roller-keeper clips. Pull rollers and rack-pins apart) Then I started taking the pump apart all the way down to the pump base (fits into tub with seal - did not replace that seal). Very intuitive - some parts are tight and must be encouraged to come apart; take care of seals and o-rings; take notes of sequence if necessary. Look for parts requiring replacement. Unscrew Spray Tower Lower Extension Nozzle and lift off Spray Arm and two lower spray arm seals - check seals for wear. Unscrew pencil-like Spray Arm Support Nut. Cause: I found a totally-clogged Pump Housing Filter, a bit of steel wool about the size of my thumb (same size as water supply opening in bottom), and small piece of broken glass. Cleaned all parts coated with lime; new Pump Housing Filter (could not clean adequately). Cleaned the screens underside of filter support (difficult) with brush and wire. Replaced o-rings for Wash Impeller and Drain Impeller as a matter of principle. Only alignment requirement is with bottom water supplly hole. Everything works like new now! Recommendation: clean Pump Housing Filter annually.

dishwasher stoped spinning dishes were dirty
unsrewed the plastic hub in the middle of the lower spray arm, removed the spray arm, took the screws out of the filter cover, removed and replaced the filter, put the cover and screws back and the lower spray arm and then the hub. the only thing I have a queston about is the proper location for the two plastic seals.

upper arm fell off, dishes were not getting clean, dishwasher leaked
My husband offered a new dishwasher, (portable $500-$600), but I thought that was unecessary. So he handed me the job. I figured out the parts, easy since the arm fell off, and the notes on your website recommended doing also the lower arm and filter. (Great notes and recommendations by the way)
I ordered the parts at noon one day and they arrived at 11.00 a.m. the next day!! Incredible!!
My son looked at the instructions and had it done in less than an hour, for LESS than $50!
It works better than ever and does not leak any more(can't figure out why!)

Dishwasher not washing
1) removed the lower rack
2) removed retainer ring from rotating arm
3) removed pop up sprayer
4) removed screws from pump cover
5) remove pump cover
6) replace filter

Clean parts here is where we spent most of the time. It's amazing how much soap scum accumulated in the system, we cleaned and soaked parts in an amonia solution and had to use tylex, and other chemicals to clean parts. Once we removed, cleaned and flushed everything thoroughly, reversed the dissasembly and tested. System works just as new!

not getting dishes cleaned
Seemed like I was getting more food stuck on my dishes than cleaned off. Because I've had this problem before, I already knew how to remove the lower spray arm and take off the large white housing beneath the spray arm with a special nut driver (shaped like a star) to get at the parts inside. The white plastic filter that circles the lower sprayer center was totally clogged and bent out of shape and was preventing the spray arm from turning. The microfilters built into the large white housing part that I removed using the special driver were also clogged from years of use. I cleaned the microfilters by agitation in water with lots of vinegar, poked the calcium deposits out of the holes that were clogged in the lower spray arm, and put the whole thing back together with the new plastic filter I bought from this site. Works like new again.

Not Cleaning
Pulled both dish racks out then the spray arms. From there took everything else out down to the top of the motor. Replaced both spray arms and anything that a filter or a screen in it. Got everthing back together and ran the unit full of dishes with no issues at all.

dish washer was not cleaning properly
there was buildup in the arms - we could see white chunks blocking the holes. we cleaned them out. using the diagram printed from you site we compared the other parts to the picture as we took them off. we determinted a few were bent or distorted or worn and ordered replacements. items arrived very quickly -in 2 days. (which does feel long enough when you are hand washing dishes). we put things back together in correct order using your diagram again and it's been clean dishes ever since. we also changed dish soaps figuring the build up was from that!! thanks for your help and your speedy delivery!

Hi JD. Thank you for the question. The water should be just touching the heating element. Hope this helps!
