Answer:

Hi John, Thank you for your inquiry. The bake igniter is one part that fixes the issue the majority of the time, but you will also have to check the The surface burner spark igniters, the gas valve, the spark module, the broil igniter and the oven sensor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Connie for model number WFG374LVS1

Hi Connie, Thank you for the question. You can test the igniter for continuity or test for 120 VAC to the igniter while the control is set for Bake. You will need a Multi Meter to test the igniter. hope this helps!

Question:

The gas value open and works, the electronic ignition click three times but the oven does light. when you open the door you can smell gas.

Alton for model number WFG510S0AB2
Answer:

Hi Alton, Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds like you may need to replace your ignitor. I would suggest testing it with a multi-meter. Most of the time when you are having that issue, it is your ignitor that is the problem. However it is always best to double check. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair!

Oven would light and a few seconds later go out. Broiler and cooktop still worked.

A very easy repair, just wished it would have worked. The diagnostic flow chart first recommended changing the igniter. The direct spark ignition board (DSI) checked out OK with a multi meter but now the flow chart recommends I change it. Wish somebody at Sears or Whirlpool ( they made the stove for Kenmore ) knew how to diagnose their own machines.
