Ignitor failed
The instructions already posted are good; the only twist on the problem I had is that I have the model with no broiler. So that caused a bit of confusion on my part, but what I needed is the lower igniter, (part #PS11747123) illustrated on the schematic diagram, with two separate leads, not a single plug. After I figured that out it was a walk in the park. And...just to be accurate...I discovered that the factory had patched in wire extenders on each lead with wire nuts. Evidently the original igniter leads used when the stove was manufactured were too short to reach through the back wall, so they had to extend them. If that is your case also, just remove the extender wire with the cap nuts, the new igniter leads are plenty long enough to reach through the back wall of the oven and clip on to the terminals of the gas valve.

My KitchenAid gas range's oven does not heat. oven igniter glows but no heat. I learned in q&a section that this is most probably a oven igniter issue such that safety valve did not open to let gas out. However, i do smell gas after 1~2 minutes which implies safety valve somehow does open. Could this still be an oven igniter issue so i just replace oven igniter? Thanks!

Hello Ran, Thank you for the question. Test for 3.0-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced.Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Oven takes 15 minutes before it ignites and then takes 20 minutes to shut off after cancel button, which beeps, is pushed. Assume faulty igniter is first problem but what is possible cause of second problem. Thanks.

Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. If your oven takes 15 minutes to light, then the issue is likely a weak or failing igniter and it will need to be replaced. If the igniter is not the issue, you will need to check the gas valve, the electronic control board, and the oven sensor. You will find the information on how to test these parts under Free Repair Help and Instant Repairman on our website. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Does the part come with ceramic screws (if needed) to attach the new broiler igniter to the existing wiring or does it just plug in to the existing line (if the range has a plug for the igniter?
