Broken door spring (counterbalance)
Removed the 4 screws that hold on the 2 lower front covers. Removed the old broken spring with just my fingers. Put the new spring in, again, with just my fingers. Put the two covers back on. I didn't even need to slide the unit out from under the counter!

Broken door spring
One day the door came slaming down. Pulled off the bottom two panels and noticed a broken spring. For the small investment I purchased two new springs and replaced both while I was down there.
1) Pulled off the bottom two panels
2) Took note of location of where the springs were and removed the old springs.
3) With my fingers found the holes and placed new spring on the door side.
4) With some muscle stretched the spring untill it joined the multiple tension slots on the frame of the washer.
5) Found the correct tension to suppt the door opening and closing properly.
6) Replaced the two bottom panels
7) Cleaned up and was done!
Thank you partselect for your great web help!

One of the springs that support the down-swinging door
1) Removed the two panels below the door.
2) Unscrewed the two screws holding the dishwasher to the upper cabinet facing.
3) Pulled dishwasher out 6-8 inches to gain access to springs located on the side.
4) Removed the broken spring.
5) Attached the new spring.
6) Openned and closed the door to make sure spring was tight enough.
7) Pushed dishwasher back in.
8) Rescrewed cabinet facing screws
9) Rescrewed floor panels.
Only problem was with ordering ... PartSelect part number is different than the FSP-Whirlpool part number. PartSelect should provide a cross-reference table if there is a difference between OEM number and PartSelect number.

One of the Diswasher door springs broke
Following instructions I found on the web, I removed the bottom plates of the dishwasher and could see the broken spring hanging from its attachment point. After shutting the power off, I reached in, removed the broken spring and with a bit of muscle, attached the new spring and stretched it to a bracket that gave the door stability when openeed. Took about 20 minutes to finish up and the door works nicely. Saved a ton of money versus calling in a repair man at $90 for arriving and $30 each 15 minutes

Broken door spring & upper spray arm assembly.
Removed upper spray arm assembly using simple nutdriver hand tool and reinstalled new parts supplied as part of the complete repair kit.
Broken door spring required screw driver to loosen bottom cover plate screws on front of dishwasher. Two screws were also removed that held the dishwasher under cabinet. to upper counter top. Dishwasher was moved out about 6 inches to gain access to sides. After screws were removed, on thet bottom front of the dishwasher, cover plate could be removed to gain access to side areas to remove broken door spring and replace with new parts. Reassembled in reverse order and the job is complete. Total repair time was approximately 30 minutes.

One of two door springs broke in two
After removing the access panel the only difficulty I had was the fact that the dishwasher happens to be in an inconvenient spot in my kitchen, repair-wise. I needed locking pliers to get a good enough grip on the undamaged spring in order to remove it. Once I got that off, installing the new springs was childs play. Wife had visions of a new $700 dishwasher dancing in her head. Not!!!

Perfect replacement part for the broken part
I ordered two springs, and then watched the You Tube video to confirm how to remove and replace with the new springs. My dishwasher was not attached to cabinet, and so is slid out easily, with enough length in hoses and electrical to permit easy access to the sides of the dishwasher. Replacing the the springs was a five-minute job. Door is working just fine now.
