How do you determine if a condition of not heating is the element or the controller?

Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. I would actually suggest checking your thermostats first before thinking of replacing either of those parts. You can check all of your thermostats with a multimeter. If they are testing good, then you can also test your heating element with that same meter. If your element is testing good, then you may have to replace your board. Good luck with your repair.
