Great video tutorials
I ordered and timely received this part and the door lock. The part of the hook that inserts in the door lock had broken off inside the lock and I had to replace the lock as well as the hook. The repair went "by the book" and I had zero problems. I would note that getting the steel band that locks the gasket in place back on the door was a pain because of the tension on the spring. Fortunately, I found something that looks like a crocheting needle (hook) with a screw driver handle at the hardware store after describing my problem and showing the gasket to one of the salesmen. He knew right off what would work. Trying to accomplish it with a screwdriver and prying it back on the door without messing up the rubber waffle gasket would have been problematic. I would and probably will be ordering parts in the future.

Quick and right fit!
We run 4 washing machines in our hotels guest laundry, subjected to various modes of operation. One of our guests was in a hurry and opened the washer before the program finished, breaking the door hook. Fortunately this was a quick fix once the part arrived and we were able to get the machine back in service fast. Thanks!

My door is locked, how do i unlock it?
For model number MHN30PDBWW0
Hi Scott,
Thank you for your question. First and foremost, unplug your appliance from the outlet. You will need to remove your front lower kickplate on your machine so that you can access the door lock latch. Once you have removed this part, reach up into the machine where your door lock is. It will be in the same spot that lines up with the strike on your door. There is a manual release that you can pull to unlock your door. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Will this door strike work on the model I have provided? It is the front loader whirlpool washer door strike.
For model number WFW94HEXW0
Hello Chelsie, thank you for the question. This part number is not compatible with your model number. The compatible part number is PS11755543. If you require assistance placing an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
The hook on the door strike broke off from being forced open. How do I get that piece out of the catch? I was reading that some people were able to use pliers but I don’t want to damage anything. It doesn’t say that the lock is still engaged. I have the rubber gasket removed and I can reach the lock mechanism from inside. Do I have to take it out to do this? Or is this something that needs to be replaced too? Thank you!
For model number MHWE251YG00
Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your question. To remove the broken strike piece from the lock, try using. a pair needle nose pliers and a small flathead screwdriver. Tweezers may help also. We hope this helps!
