Hi, I have a KitchenAid dishwasher and it is leaking through the level float gasket.I would like to install a new gasket and re tighten the hex holding all the hardware below the water cabinet in place. How do I get the float off to access the hex nut?

Hi Kris, Thank you for the question. You will need to work it up and down to release the float. It should just pull out.Hope this helps!

This dishwasher is leaking from underneath the float switch. I am assuming the gasket needs to be replaced, and if so, is the correct replacement gasket PS11746142? Should I be ordering something else?

Hello GH,
Thanks for your question. This type of situation typically arises from a faulty water inlet valve, part number PS11738107. You may wish to test the water inlet valve with a multimeter for electrical continuity and replace it if it has no continuity.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for your answer. I have checked the inner seal and it looks good. The tub seems to be filling up with too much water and comes out the corners of each side of the door. What would be the remedy? The hose clamp? Cheryl

Hello Cheryl, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the Overfill Control Switch,PartSelect Number PS11750031. This part is also known as a float switch. This float switch, when activated, stops the flow of water into the dishwasher. Hope this helps!
My KitchenAid dishwasher is leaking through the lower part of the door onto the floor. No leakage underneath the dishwasher unit. I replaced the inner door seal and tub seal a year ago and it did the trick. This second time around, i replaced the door seal. When i ran the dishwasher for the first time after replacing this part..it did not leak but the second time i ran the dishwasher it starting leaking again. the tub seal looks fine. what would you advise. thank you, cheryl

Hello Cheryl and thanks for writing.
We would suggest checking the inner door seal for debris or and indention as this might be the likely cause of your problem, it would not hurt to go over the door seal as well, making sure nothing has lodged in it. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
