Power Went Completely Out
The power on the microwave went completely out when I went to use it, but there was no power failure for the house or neighborhood. We removed the microwave from above the oven. ... Read moreke some microwave models. As the appliance is over 20 years old the line fuse was quite old. It was really hard to pry it out of its holder and actually broke. I used a vacuum to suck up the dust and glass and it was easier to get out the ends once the middle broke. Popped the new line fuse in, slid the top back on, put in the screws and put the microwave back in its compartment above the stove. Good as new!! We were about to spend money on a new microwave, but thankfully I came across this site. So happy I did!!
This repair was really easy. The part that took the most time was taking it down from it's compartment above the oven and putting it back up there once repaired.

Microwave light, turntable, and heat were not working
Remove from cabinetry, take cover off and had a very difficult time removing the plastic form that has the switched in. Replace the lowest of all the switches, and then again very difficult time getting the plastic form back in. Microwave did not work; no clock, etc. 120VAC at duplex outlet OK. Thought there must be an internal in line fuse or reset.
Unplug microwave! It's NOT necessary to remove microwave from above stove. Removed two Philips head screws on top front of unit to remove front grille. Removed one screw to remove control panel, letting it hang down. Found inline fuse in cabinet where line cord wires come in. Pulled out blown fuse with thumb and forefinger. Snapped in new

No Power to Microwave

Where is line fuse located?

My Whirlpool gold microwave functions only with the lights ,fan, clock are fine when i push the power and time and the counter goes down in number but the microwave doesnt go on and heat the coffee even as the timer goes down .What does this sound like?

Hello Andrew, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom, there are a few parts that may provide a fix. You may want to try replacing the Door Interlock Switch Kit part PS373050, or the Line Fuse part PS11745084. We hope this helps.

According to kitchen aid, this model has been discontinued. It will not turn on when plugged in. The microwave is about 11 years old.I have three questions:
where would you find the line fuse?
where would you find the door interlock switch? and
is it hard to replace either one?

Hello Joe, thank you for your question. The line fuse is usually on the right side of the mciroewave near the capacitor, behind the control panel. You would have to remove the cabinet of the microwave to access this area. The door switches are located behind the control panel toward the left side where the door goes in and latches. I was given this part number by Maytag they said it would be compatible fuse r0131110. I hope they were right as it's not ceramic. Is this safe to use?
