Easy Repair and Great Installation Video
Our Amana washer no longer needs duct tape to keep the door closed! This was a easy repair and would have taken 15 minutes tops had one of the screws below the soap drawer not been rusted into immovability. Removing that one screw took 15 minutes and a variety of tools! The installation video was great: provided good detail in a logical, step-by-step process. Your website is bookmarked for future needs.

Great Service
We had an older washing machine where the part was not readily available. Parts Select checked with a sister company who had the part. It came in a timely manner and although it looked slightly different, it fit and works well. Customer service was very helpful.

Easy repair
The part was an upgrade from the original latch. The new part had a metal latch and my original was plastic. The video helped although my washer was a bit different but was replaced fairly easily.

Simple Repair, However, watch more then one video on this repair.
The repair was extremely simple and fast once I found a good video. The first video showed taking the machine apart , lots of screws and panels. However, the second video I found showed simply removing the rubber seal inside the door and accessing the old part with a couple of screws. The first video would have worked but was a big enough hassle that I looked for an alternative. Definitely a part you can replace yourself in about 10 minutes.

Planstic door Latch broke.
Removed covers per instruction video provided by website
Both door latch parts broke, one on the door and the other on the washer.
When I looked at the website for latch repair they showed a video (can't remember which brand but not Amana) where you had to take off the top and front of the washer to get at the latch part on the washer. For the Amana I had, you simply had to pull out a portion of the rubber gasket held onto the washer by a wire/spring combination (you

You could then undo the three screws holding the latch to the washer, pull it out and unplug the three wiring connections to remove the old latch. Then plug connections into the new latch, reinstall, tighten screws and fit gasket and wire/spring assembly back together. Much easier than going thru the top and front of the washer!

Hello.... i have a Whirlpool front load washer... the machine lights up and you can change or make any selections on the panel but when i push start nothing happens other than the light on the selector knob flashes.... the door does latch closed but normally when i hit start i hear it lock... do you feel that it could be a bad door lock or main computer? thanks for your impute.
For model number GHW9100LW
Hi David,
Thank you for your inquiry. Where your washer is not starting the part that fixes the issue the majority of the time is the door lock latch. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Machine will not start, nor will it do anything when we try different settings, their is a red light lower left that says control locked.
For model number GHW9100LW2
Hello Bill, Thank you for your inquiry. "Control Locked" means that the child lock feature which prevents the machine from starting is turned on, try pressing and holding the End of Cycle signal button on the right side of the panel for 15 seconds. Hope this helps!

My washer was running through a cycle during a storm and the power went on and off a few times. The washer cut off and will not power back on. I checked the breaker and the outlet and both are working. The clothes were locked in so I watched a video how to release the door mechanism and got the clothes out. I called a local repair company and the tech came out and didn't do anything but plug it in and checked the breaker. He then said its either the do locking mechanism or the main control board and he would call me back with a price for both. Shouldn't there be a way to diagnose which it is so I don't have to pay for both and only hope one works?
For model number MAH6700AWW
Hi Dave,
Thank you for the question. If there is no lights coming on and it is not powering on at all then It would more then likely be the control board. Usually with the door lock the lights on the control board will still come on but you would get a error or the door would not open but it would still power on.
Hope this helps!

I have a Whirlpool duet washer machine replaced part number wpa182634 Whirlpool replacement latch for door . Still not working code f dl still coming on. What do i do??
For model number GHW9400PW0
Hello Christina, thank you for your question. The F/DL does indicate a door lock failure. The door lock assembly, control board and harness would be the parts that might cause this problem. Try pushing in on the door while it is trying to lock and see if there is any improvement. Make sure the connections are tight. Quite a few other customers had the same issue, and checked the connections to make sure they were tight and that fixed the issue. If the latch connections are nice and tight, the other issue could be the control board itself. I hope this helps!

I have a Kenmore front loading washer. There is a small, spring loaded button, which seems to act as a safety of some kind in conjunction with the door latch. It has broken off. The washer will not operate without it engaged. Is it an integral part of the door lock (part number 8181700?) do i need to replace the entire door lock to repair this small piece of plastic?
For model number 110.42922200
Hi Tim,
Thank you for your question. This spring is referred to as the door lock plunger spring. It holds tension against the plunger to push the plunger into the door latch. If the spring has broken you will need to replace it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I have a Maytag front loading washer model number mfw9600sq0. I just replaced the door latch, but it didn't fix my issue. The water runs into the washer, however it never spins, it just sits there quietly until it's time to drain, which it does fine. It's like my whole spin cycle is missing. Occasionally i will also get a short quick buzz noise. Any other ideas on how to trouble shoot this? Thanks
For model number MFW9600SQ0
Hi Holly,
Thank you for the question. Sounds like the timer that sends the appliance into the cycles is defective. When the timer is defective it can skip one or more cycles or not advance at all. The timer for your model is built into the Electric Control Board.
Hope this helps!
Hi Wesley,
Thank you for your question. If the washer will not start, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the door lock latch, the door lever and the drain pump. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

What is needed to fix a f 11 code? I am able to reset, but I would like to made needed repairs before the problem remains and I can't reset!
For model number GHW9150PW0
Hello Lowell, Thank you for the question. The tech sheet inside the washer says this is a communications error between two control boards, the CCU (central control unit/ User Interface) PartSelect Number PS988707 and MCU (motor control unit) PartSelect Number: PS10064572. Unfortunately the CCU has been discontinued. You can check the wiring between the two boards to ensure everything is secure and does not need to be replaced. If the wiring is good, one of the two boards would need to be replaced. Hope this helps!
Will this part help latch the door? I recently bought the door latch because it was broke but now the door won't latch to close to secure it.
