Easy to change but did not fix the problem
Bought the switch thinking that was it, but it is something else. Read the fine print on returns. If you install it, it is non returnable. They have a one year return policy, so if you forget to use the part for repair, then you can return it. Not a realistic scenario.

When I turn the power on the power indicator light does not light up, and the dryer will not start. Any idea what part might be defective?
For model number LEW0050PQ2
Hi Steve, Thank you for the great question. If the appliance is plugged in and is not powering on, I suggest testing or replacing the Door Switch, PartSelect Number PS11745012. Good luck with the repair!

I purchased a dryer door switch, 8182530, from you 3 years ago because the one on the dryer melted the connector and the wire and the dryer stopped working. Today, the dryer failed and i checked the switch. The connector was melted and 2” of insulation on the wire feeding this terminal was melted off. I’m surprised it didn’t cause a fire. I assume the contacts in the switch arced, heated up the switch and melted the connector and the wire. I would appreciate any thoughts you may have. Thanks
Hello Bo, thank you for writing. It doesn't sound like there is any other issue with the appliance, like bad wiring or anything, but simply the door switch has failed. I would recommend replacing the switch, and if it happens again you may want to check the appliance wiring. I hope this helps!
