The oven door springs create tension which allows the door to open and close with ease. This spring can be used on either the left or right side of your oven, is made completely of metal, and is approximately 6 inches long. If your oven door will not open or close easily, you may need to replace this part. It may be a good idea to replace both hinges at the same time, because if a spring has become loose, the other hinge is likely to have the same issue. You may need to remove the side panel of the oven to reach where the spring attaches, so make sure the oven is off and is cool to the touch. This part is sold individually.

Exactly what I needed
I paid for expedited shipping and it arrived quickly. It was exactly the part I needed to replace a broken spring in the oven door of my 30-year-old Magic Chef. I was so happy to find the spring I needed for an old appliance AND at a reasonable price. When the other side breaks, I’ll be contacting you again. The oven door works perfectly now.

Door Spring Broke
Removed 7 screws on sides and one on top of stove. Replaced both springs (only one was broken but did both). Took around 15 to 30 minutes from start to finish.Fastest shipping in history during holidays without paying anything extra.

Oven would not light
don't know, my husband had it going in minutes. But I would like to say that I have ordered parts for this stove and other appliances over the years and the service is great, the parts are correct and its an easy, user friendly web site to order the parts.
oven door spring broke and had to be replaced, oven light out and had to be replaced
The old gasket fell apart as I replaced the oven light and had to be replaced. That was very easy once I received the part. The spring broke on the oven door and had to be replaced. I initially tried to reach in from inside the pan drawer under the oven. That was impossible to reaach but it only took a few minutes to realize that I ha

Pulled the stove out, removed the sides and attatched the new springs( replaced both while the stove was out). Worked like new and put the stove back.

How do I change the springs?
For model number MER6750ACW
Hi Gerry,
Thank you for your question. This is a fairly easy repair. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet or turn the circuit breaker off. Remove the screws along the side panels and the top of the oven to access the springs. Remove the old springs and install the new springs. Secure the panels with the screws restore power to the stove and everything should now work for you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
