Oven broiler not working. Element seems ok. No damage. Do I need new thermostat.
    For model number S160
Hello Chris, Thank you for the question. if it is just the Broil Element now working and Bake in good, the thermostat will be fine. The Broil Element can short out or become faulty without showing physical damage. We suggest testing the element with a Multimeter. The element's resistance may be in the area of 20 to 40 ohms depending on its wattage. We hope this helps!

The baking element (bottom) "blew out" including a flame up & then the control panel screen went out on our Jenn-air range. The parts specialist that customer service transferred me to recommended checking the high limit switch (thermostat) first: if ok, "probably the electronic control board blown, if not working, try replacing it first". He couldn't tell me where it's located, however (?). It looks like the electronic board is no longer available anywhere to order. Any suggestions? thanks so much!
    For model number JES9860AAW
Hello Nancy, thank you for writing. You are correct that the electronic control board is discontinued. Sadly, we have no known replacement listed in our system. We have no further information. You are welcome to contact the manufacturer of the part to see if they have recently released a new substitute. Good luck with your repair.

Oven would not shut down, kept heating
The front oven control panel was already in need of replacement. The digital readout had quit working sometime ago, so we began by replacing the control panel as well as the temperature probe. Neither of these items did the trick. Next I replaced the HI/Lo sensor switch. This replacement was a bit more labor intensive. Have to remove several screws and remove a large portion of the top of the stove. Once access is gained to the hi/lo switch, it takes (2) minutes to replace it. This of course did not take care of the problem either. Finally I replaced the bake/broil/convection circuit board. This was a bit of a job, only because of the amount of wires to and from this board. I litterally took a picture of the board (from this web site) and drew in the wires and marked them by color and noted where they went. I then merely unplugged each wire and with one screw, removed the board and installed the new one. After plugging in the wires as per my picture, SUCCESS. The board did the trick. Over all, it was not bad doing the work myself. I know we saved a lot of money my doing it ourselves. Just gotta have patience.
