This oven light assembly is a little over four inches long and comes with the lens and 660-watt light bulb. Make sure your appliance is unplugged or circuit breaker is off before installing this new part. It is located inside the oven and may need to be replaced if the socket has failed, causing the light to not come on inside the oven. It may also need to be replaced if you notice that the glass is broken and the whole assembly needs to be replaced. The part is located in the upper right hand side of the oven. To reach the bulb you will need to open the oven door and remove the upper rack.

The part fit great. Only trouble was getting the old one out.
The delivery was very slow, took 10 days to arrive.

needed new oven light assembly/part #PS1864256
Removed old assembly, attached wires to new and inserted into space for same. Of course you must turn off the range circuit breaker. The part that took the most time was removing the old assembly. Once that was done, the rest took only a few minutes.

How do I remove oven light socket?
For model number MER5775QAQ
Hello George,
Thanks for your question. Before you begin, you will want a flathead screwdriver and needle-nose pliers. Unplug the oven. Open up the oven door. The part is located in the upper right corner, so we recommend pulling out the upper rack for more room. Reach in and unscrew the light lens and lightbulb. Both unscrew counterclockwise. Reach in and release the socket assembly. There are tabs typically in the 12-o-clock and 6-o-clock positions that will need to be bent into the socket assembly so it can release from the wall (use a screwdriver). There may be more locking tabs depending on the version of the part, so be watchful of that.
With the tabs bent in, reach in and pull the assembly out. Use the flathead screwdriver to unwire the socket. Take the lens and lightbulb off of the new part to avoid damaging them. Reach in with your needle-nose pliers and grab the wires, reattach them to the new part and then push the light assembly in. Let the locking tabs snap in place and simply put in the bulb and lens cover, then replace the oven rack and plug the range back in.
I hope this helps.

I have a KitchenAid range and i believe that the light socket in the oven blew out, for when i went to change the light bulb it sparked and the metal part of the light bulb was left stuck in the socket. I was able to remove the part and replace the bulb but the light won't come on. What is the replacement code for a socket replacement on this model? And do your carry it or something that is compatible with my range? Thanks for your help.
