Question:

Unable to adjust temperature in oven going thru the setup steps for over temp adjustment will not help. Do i need a new control panel?

Connie for model number JJW8527008
Answer:

Hi Connie, Thank you for your question. It could be your electronic control board that is the issue. I would suggest unplugging your appliance for about 5 minutes and then plugging it back in. If that does not reset the board you may have to replace it. Good luck with your repair.

Question:

Hi - my jenn air wall oven broil element will not turn off even after replacing it and letting it sit with the circuit breaker turned off. Clock appears fine but i cannot cancel the broiler. Is this the clock controller that needs to be replaced?? thanks

Kevin for model number JJW8527AAB
Answer:

Hi Kevin, Thank you for your question. It does sound like it would be your board that is the issue. That or the wiring between the two parts. I would suggest checking your wiring first to see. Good luck with your repair.

Question:

Oven (bake element) will not turn off (continues to heat after multiple hits of the "cancel" button), and clock light is no longer visible (won't light up). Which part do I need to repair it?

Ed for model number JMW9530AAW
Answer:

Hi Ed, Thank you for the question. Yes the Electronic Clock Control Board will need to be replaced. The board controls the the oven and when defective can cause the issues you are having. Hope this helps!

Digital display on oven went out

I followed other postings about this repair. It was easy. Open oven door, remove 4 screws that secure oven in the cabinet. Slide oven out a few inches. I thought it would be too heavy for me, but it wasn't. Remove 4 screws along the underside of where the clock panel sits. Have the oven door open, look up and you will see the four screws. Lift up and off for the glass front of the clock area. Undo the 4 sets of wire connections. They just snap in and out. Lay the glass on a towel, remove the clock assembly with a nut driver, replace with new clock assembly and reverse the instructions. When putting the glass panel back on, make sure you hook it over the top ledge. I missed that and after I replaced the 4 screws, I realized the top was not secure. Don't forget to kill the circuit breaker while working on this.

Clock assembly did not work

Removed 4 screws that hold the clock assembly panel in place. Removed the defective part and replaced it with the new part. The wiring connectors were almost impossible to incorrectly connect.
Easy and saved $ 100

Oven clock module didn't work

My friend actually replaced this but it was really quick and easy. If I'd had to do it myself, I think I could have because it came with the simpilist step-by-step directions! The best part of all was that I ordered it online on Monday and had it on Tuesday....during Christmas week!! Unbelievable service. Will definitely recommend this company to anyone needing any appliance parts!

Display went dim then completely out.

It was nice to be able to find this site and see that my problem was the same as others and they had all solved it with replacing the control module. So I ordered the part. Received it. Removed the 4 screws on the panel, then removed the connectors, then removed the bolts holding the control panel on the board. Replaced control panel and hooked it all back up. Very easy and was working in 15 minutes.

Light in the clock started going dim and eventually went dark

I followed the great directions posted by others on the PartSelect website for Part No. PS2078472. This was really easy! Another customer has posted a GREAT suggestion of pulling the top oven shelf out about a foot and using it to lay the control panel faceplate assembl on after its unscrewed and lifted off its support. I used (and suggest others use) a soft cloth to put under the control panel before I laid it on the extended top oven shelf to avoid any scratching. I took great comfort from the prior 9-28-07 posting by customer Cheryl from Mesa, AZ, in which she said that she was a "63 yr. old woman" and that the repair was "very easy" for her -- Let me add that it was also very easy for a slightly younger, but mechanically challenged man! PartSelect got my part right out to me (with a couple of replacement bulbs for the interior oven light, since my oven bulb had also just burned out). Everything was just as represented and I felt I got good value for the money. It's a pleasure to do business with PartSelect! Thanks also for making me a hero with my wife -- now she thinks I can fix things!
