Hello Cesar, thank you for your question. I would recommend testing the Long Oven Sensor PartSelect Number: PS1570174, as well as the High Limit Thermostat - L225-60F PartSelect Number: PS11743860. Both of these parts are able to be tested with a multimeter to see if they are faulty. I hope this helps!

Hi i have a jenn air slide in electric range with down draft (model number above). When we turned it on in convection mode, the top element turned bright red like it was on broil and would not cool down. This happens on the bake setting too. There was an electical smell prior to this happening. We have since disconnected the oven portion until we can get this figured out. The top elements all work. Can you please help us?

Hi Jane, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your elements with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I have a Jenn-Air 30" expressions convection wall oven. The problem i am having is that both upper and lower ovens are approx. 15 degrees lower than the preset temp i set on The display panel. I determine this by putting two oven thermometers inside each oven.I tried calibrating the thermostat per the instructions in the owners manual and no change. i also replaced the lower coil in the upper oven and see no improvement. i just ordered the probe from your company to see if this i the problem? what do you think is going on? thanks, ron

Hi Ron, Thank you for your question. If the oven is not heating correctly, then the issue is likely with the oven sensor, sometimes called the oven thermostat, and you will need to check it with a multimeter. When testing the sensor with a multimeter, the sensor should be tested at room temperature and it should be unplugged from the oven. You will need to measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. Replace the oven sensor if the reading is less than 900 Ohms or more than 1200 Ohms. If this is not the issue, depending on your what type of stove you have, you may need to also check the electronic control board, the terminal block the bake and broil elements and the wiring between the parts. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hi, I got an answer back on my question. I just want to clarify my issue and want to know why you suggest the over temp sensor. When I select a temp say ,250 degrees, the oven heats up gets to the pre set temp and it dings me to say that the pre set temp is reached but the oven element is still red hot and the temp keeps going up. I thought the sensor that was recommended to change is for when the oven get too hot it shuts off the power so no fire happens? Can you elaborate on your recommendation please?

Hi Jeff, thank you for reaching out. If the sensor is bad it can not properly determine the temperature and tell the thermoset when to turn off or turn on to maintain the internal temperatures. If the sensor is tested good, you may also have a faulty Control Board. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. We hope this helps!

What symptoms would indicate a bad thermostat?
For model number WW27430B
PartSelect logo
Hi Scott. Thank you for the question. It can vary depending on the appliance but in most cases there would be no heat. You can test it with a multi meter, It is normally closed at temperatures below 225° F and opens up at 225°F. It will close again once it has cooled down to approximately 150°F, hope this helps!

Hi you replied to my earlier question regarding my jenn aire stove, however, you suggested the control panel and long oven sensor may correct the upper element overheat problem, however, the oven sensor in my oven is shorter than the long oven sensor. Can you please advise?
