The Clock Display had dimmed out.
The expert said to replace the clock control and linked to the replacement part. The part was promptly shipped. The only difficult part of the repair turned out to be the removal of the ribbon from the old controller. I noted the tabs on the side of the ribbon receptacle and expected the ribbon to release when these were pushed in. What was actually needed was to not only push in but also to pull upward on the tabs in order to release the ribbon. That was not obvious and it took me a while to get the ribbon released.

No lights on control panel - Oven worked
My electrical engineer son was skeptical of my diagnoses and wanted to be there so I didn't electrocute myself. Opened oven door so interior light came on. Went to circuit box and opened proper circuit (previously determined). Light went off. Started timing, removed 7 seven screws, I held the panel while my son removed the wires from connections. I expected the long multi-wire to release from the panel, but only a part of it came up when we squeezed the ends which released the wires. Removed four hex-head screws, put new panel in place, re-installed screws, inserted multi-wires into connector, connected the other two wires, re-installed the 7 screws, closed circuit breaker. 17 minutes. Set clock. Works like a new one. It appears the display unit lost vacuum. One small black spot like a burned incandecent filament. Engineer was impressed.

Oven Display Panel "Blacked Out"
We operated the oven without the display panel for three years and finally discided to get it repaired. The cost of the repair was going to be over 330.00. I went online to PartSelect and had the part in a few days. I removed the 4 front screws behind each of the knobs, next I removed the 4 screws and 4 hex bolts under the front panel. The two side panels needed to be removed by taking out the screw from under each panel. Remove the front control panel and release the ribbon cable by pressing in on the two side tabs allowing the locking connector to be rasie up relaseing the ribbon cable. The other two power cable can be gently removed. Two hex bolts hold the disply panel to the front panel. Installation is the reverse of the removal process. The process took less then 20 minutes. PartSelect customer service was very professional and I will use them again without a second thought.

Lighted oven display went out.
Under the touch panel there are 4 small hex screws that have to be removed. The front touch panel then can be lowered to expose the Clock control board. The board only had 2 screws holding it to the panel, but the ribbon connector must be disconnected by squeezing the 2 tabs on either end of the black connector, then lifting the top of the connector which will allow you to remove the ribbon. Installation of the ribbon is the reverse of the removal process. A small multi-point connector also has to be gently removed. After the new unit is in place, replace the connectors being careful not to bend any of the wire projections, replace the panel, and that's it. Very easy.

Clock display had completely gone out
Followed other's comments about process. Opened door then removed 4 hexnuts from bottom of stove control panel. Removed hexnut from each triangular side panel of control panel. Removed side panel (it did break off a screw area near the top of the panel, but did not negatively affect reassembly. Control panel slid down and tilted out so I could see the backside of the clock control circuit card. Removed 2 small cables. The flex cable is removed by pushing in on the small ears on each side of the connector. The cable has a couple of holes which are over protusions on the connector, so be careful. Removed the 2 hex nuts holding the board down, and put in the new one. Put cables back on as removed - the near side of the flex cable connector is free to slide up about 1/8 inch when ears on both ends of connector are pushed in. When raised, put the flex cable in place and push in (along with the side of the connector) until it is latched in place. This took me the longest since I was being careful here, but no more than 10 minutes. Then put control panel back in place, and put triangular end pieces back on panel and attach with hex nut, then put 4 front hex nuts back in place. Worked fine!! Thanks for everyone's encouragement and help in understanding what I would find during this process.

clock/timer/temp. display went out
Pull the 4 control knobs off the front and remove the one screw under each knob. Remove 4 hex head screws and 2 phillips head screws from under the display panel...open oven door first. Gently lower and roll panel forward and out. Detach 2 wiring harness's and the 'ribbon'. Reverse to assemble. Read how others did the job and it was exactly as they said. To have it done would have been $464. I did it myself for $189. Part was shipped fast. . Thank you.

Electronic control faded out
Thanks to all of the previous do-it-yourself repairers. With those instructions it was quite simple to do the repair. The only glitch I had was trying to get the ribbon back into the new unit. That was until I looked at the old unit and finally figured out how to release the new unit lock. Then it was a simple process to install the ribbon. My biggest problem was finding my close-up glasses so I could actually SEE what I was doing.

Thanks,
Kevin

Display Fading to Black - Clock & Oven Temp Unreadable
I did this job myself, but it might be handy to have a helper to assist in holding the control panel during unplug and replug stages of the process. Also strongly suggest you read through these and other posted instructions BEFORE getting started.

Kill Circuit Breaker Power To Unit.
Pull Four Burner Control Knobs off front panel.
Unscrew Phillips Head Screws from under each knob. (Be careful not to strip screw heads, I applied pretty firm pressure on screw driver to avoid stripping).
Open Oven door.
Remove 4 Phillips screws on trim piece under control panel and remove trim piece.
Unscrew 1 small Phillips screw on each side of panel to loosen plastic side trim pieces.
Use socket to remove 4 hex head screws holding control panel in place.
Gently pivot control panel top downward to access the circuit board panel. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO ALLOW CONTROL PANEL TO HANG BY FRAGILE CONNECTING CABLES!!!
GENTLY unplug the two white connector cables from the board. There is a locking tab on both that you can release with a fingernail or small flathead screwdriver while gently pulling the connector upward. (These connectors snap to lock more easily when you eventually re-assemble to the replacement board).
VERY GENTLY unplug the ribbon cable. This was a bit confusing to me at first, but if you gently squeeze the two very small tabs on both sides of the black connector, you can gently raise the center body of the connector upwards about 1/8 inch. (You might find it helpful to practice how this mechanism functions on your replacement part BEFORE you do the disassembly, it's really pretty simple once you see how it works). This will take the gripping pressure off the ribbon itself and you can gently wiggle the ribbon out free from the connector taking note of the two very small alignment holes in the ribbon connector as you do so.
Now with all cables free use a socket to remove 2 hex head screws holding the circuit board to the control panel.
Now install the replacement board by simply doing all above in reverse. Take care to line up cable connections to the board properly, noting the two alignment holes in the ribbon cable to tabs in the black connector. All three connections should snap in easily without undue force.
Your range display should be good as new.

The stove works fine but the light for the clock and temp settings is very dim very hard to read. Is there an adjustment for the light setting or a replacement bulb?
For model number SVE87600B

Hi Dan, Thank you for the question. The light in the board is not replaceable so the control board will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

My oven display quit some time ago but oven still worked. Beeped with temp reached desired input. But oven started not to get hot anymore. I replaced the element, that did not help, i then replaced the sensor. Thinking that would help. No. The only other thing is the expensive control board. Help
For model number SVD48600BC
PartSelect logo
Hi Brenda, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there are only three parts that could cause your appliance not to heat up usually. It would be your element, your sensor, and your oven control board. If your element and sensor are fine, then unfortunately it is most likely your board that is the issue. It sort of sounds that way because you have been having other issues with it as well. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Will this part fix the f1 error code, with incessant beeping?
For model number SVE47600W
PartSelect logo
Hi John, Thank you for your inquiry. The F1 error code means that either your touch pad or this part is defective. You should go through your touch pad test to see if that is the part that is the one not working. First disconnect the power to your appliance. Take apart your control area so that you can gain access to this part. Disconnect the ribbon coming from the touch pad to this part. Make sure that there are no loose wires so that a short does not occur when you turn the power back on in your appliance. Leave the parts unplugged for about a minute. Then reattach your ribbon and put your appliance back together. Turn your power back on. Wait for another minute. If your F1 error code is still there, then you will know that it is this part that is the problem instead of the touch pad. I hope that helps!

My oven works but the read out is very dim. There are after power blackouts where i live. 1. Can i just replace the read out? 2. Will a surge protector likely protect the new unit?
For model number WM30460W
PartSelect logo
Hi Norton, Thank you for your question. To replace the read out you would have to replace your electronic control board. A surge protector would definitely protect your appliances from a surge, especially if you got one installed at your electrical panel itself. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

For model number WP71001799

Hi Misty, Thank you for your question. If nothing is displaying, then the part you will likely have to replace is the electronic control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The broiler element on our jennair will not shut off. Previously, the broiler would come on when the oven was set in baking mode, which caused us to burn up food. And prior to that we could not get the broiler element to come on under the broiler mode. I have seen f2 codes and f7 codes on the display. Have now turned off the power to the stove. We have called for service thinking there was a problem with the broiler element, but i now am thinking it is probably the control panel which will need to be replaced. What are your thoughts?
For model number SCE30600B
PartSelect logo
Hi Keith, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your elements with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Will this fix code f7
PartSelect logo
Hi Mark, Thank you for your inquiry. The F7 error code usually means that the keypad has failed. Try unplugging it for 60 seconds and to see if that will fix the issue. If not you will need to replace it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
