Loose wires on freezer thermostat
I won't buy a Maytag again. The quality of several of my Whirlpool/Maytag appliances is sub-standard, in my opinion. And their service techs/customer service make a lot of excuses.
I had the refrigerator section warmer, not cooling, relative to the freezer section. Using a pro, which didn't help much, cost me an arm, but at
... Read moreleast gave me the direction of parts to be replaced and confidence to understand the process design flow. The circuit board. The FZTemp control. Then the freezer heater. Upon getting ready to replace the freezer heater, I noticed that a connector wire on the freezer thermostat connecting the freezer heater was very loose. Though I couldn't tell from visual inspection until I was ready to disconnect the old freezer heater element and install a new one. The heater element is supposed to defrost the freezer coils which were freezing up every 4-6 days. This inhibited the fan from blowing cold air into the refrigerator side. I read to test the freezer heater element by turing the fztemp control, off-on several times force a freezer heater element startup. Which it did once the wires were reconnected. One other bit of advice, I used hot water in a spray bottle to dissolve the ice off the coils. Others used a hot hair blower. Beware the drain pan on the bottom doesn't hold a lot of water.
We'll see how well my fix holds up. Wish me luck!

Everything works except for when ice maker calls for water. Have checked or replaced just about everything. Told its not getting the proper voltage. Is this the part I need?
For model number Mzd2665hes
Hello Butch, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, the issue is probably because of a faulty water inlet valve, part number PS11743618, and a defective cycling thermostat, part number PS11743313. We would recommend checking both parts using a multimeter. If this does not help, we recommend testing the main electronic control board. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.
