Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This lint filter sits on top of your washer's agitator. Not only does it filter the lint out of your washing machine, but it also helps the agitator to move clothing around on the inside of your washing machine.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

The old lint filter was worn, and would "pop up" so that clothes weren't being moved about during the wash and rinse cycles. If I didn't frequently push it down again, it would fly off during a spin cycle. Dangerous!
I simply lifted the lint filter and its cap off, pressed the new agitator cap onto the new lint filter and put the assemblage into place. No tools needed at all. A $50 dollar repair saved me from replacing my washer/dryer! I'm very pleased.

My washing machine lint filter is not attached to the agitator base. It is simply sitting atop the agitator base not bolted down. Is the lint filter suppose to be bolted down with the agitator bolt ?
For model number WET4024EW0
Hi Stan, thank you for getting in touch. According to our research, the upper agitator with the filter should be bolted down with the agitator base. The agitator bolt for your model is part number PS11741866. Glad to be of assistance!
