Why is the high limit kit $17 and just the high limit thermostat $53. Am i missing something? How do i test the thermostat?
    For model number CDE6000W
Hi Eric, Thank you for your question. We base our prices on what the manufacturer charges and try to be competitive with them by providing prices that are cheaper. To test the thermostat, Disconnect the power source to your dryer before you conduct this or any other test. Either unplug the unit from the wall outlet, remove the appropriate fuse from the fuse box, or flip the appropriate breaker in the circuit breaker panel. Your dryer uses multiple thermostats to regulate its internal temperature. The cycle selected determines which thermostat is used. A cycling thermostat can be found somewhere in the path of air that is leaving the drum. It could be found on the blower wheel housing or inside the venting/exhaust system. Dryer thermostats are usually oval shaped and about an inch and a half in length. Also, there should be two wires leading to each thermostat. Label these wires before you remove them so that you are able to correctly reconnect them later. The wires leading to the thermostat are connected using metal slip on connectors. Remove the wires by pulling on the connectors, and not the wires themselves. It may be a good idea to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to help you. Set your multimeter to the R X 1 setting. Take each of your meter's probes and touch one to each terminal. You are testing for continuity, and you should receive a reading of either zero or infinity. At room temperature, testing the thermostat should produce a reading of zero. But if a thermostat is tested when it is heated to its limit, a reading of infinity should be produced. We strongly recommend that you test your thermostat at room temperature. If the test you conduct with your thermostat does not produce these results, then you should replace the component. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Thermal fuse blew due to lent, replaced thermal fuse and thermostat.Cleaned lent . Dryer now runs but no heat ???
    For model number PYE2300AYW
Hello ronnie, thank you for your question. The most likely issue is a bad thermostat. We would recommend testing High Limit Kit Part Number: LA-1053, and Control Thermostat Part Number: WP31001192, and if those parts are tested and are ok, the issue is probably the heating element itself I hope this helps!

Dryer would not start, no enterior light operation
I down loaded the dryer schematic and itentified items that would potentially cause the observed symptoms. Initially, I replaced the thermal fuse. After the symptoms returned after two loads, suspected the hi limit thermostat not regulating the heater element temperature. I located the thermostat using the illustrated parts list on your website and replaced the thermal fuse (second time) and the thermostats using a nut driver. The Blond hasn't announced a dryer stoppage since the repair, so I'm pronouncing the repair a success. Thank you for making the drawings and schematics available.

No heat on dry cycle. Thought it might be element.
Opened top of dryer and found high limit thermostat burned in half. Thermostat is located on top of element. Replacement of thermostat took less than 10 minutes, using phillips head screwdriver.

        dryer had no heat
I unplugged the dryer and then opened the top by releasing the two clips with a large flathead screwdriver. The heat element tested good with ohm meter but the thermistat was open. Replaced the thermistat and it fixed the problem.

Dryer would not come up to temp.
Hinged open the top of the dryer. While dryer was running I tapped on the thermostat. The heater came back on. This verified the problem. Unplugged the thermostat, unscrewed it and replaced it.

THERMOSTAT needed to be replaced, dryer works but no heat
Open the top of the dryer, thermostat can be plainly seen. this one was obviously fried, made it easy to determine cause of problem. remove old thermostat, pins pull off posts, using socket take off nuts (hang on to the nuts), put the new on. Fixed.
