Splash Guard Specifications

The splash guard, also known as a mounting gasket, is used for garbage disposals. The splash guard creates a watertight seal between the sink flange and the garbage disposal ring. The rubber cover covers the top of the sink drain and it opens in the center to allow water and food particles into the garbage disposal while keeping liquids and food from splashing out or back into the sink. This should fix any issue or symptom of garbage coming back out of your sink. Refer to the manufacturer-approved instructional diagram for installation and accurate guidance.

May i install this splash guard without dismounting the disposal?
For model number DFC
Hello Tom, Thank you for the question. The disposal will need to be dismounted to replace the guard. Removed disposal after disconnecting plumbing. Removed supporting bracket and old splash guard. Pushed new guard onto top of disposal, reconnected supporting bracket. Hope this helps!

How hard is it to replace the splash guard in this disposal? Can we do it or does a plumber need to do it. Also is it replaceable as i asked a plumber and he said no but wanted to sell me a new disposal.

My garbage disposer is missing the original splash guard and the disposer drive was replaced with an "American Standard". The drain to my sink is labeled "Whirlpool" (no model number) and measures 3-3/8" inside diameter. Will this splash guard fit my disposer?

Worn out splash guard
Ask my grandson to replace it. He’s a genius. He used hammer to release the disposer circular latch. He then removed the old splash guard and installed the new one. Love him
