Timer switch had gone bad and would not move into rinse cycle
I watched the video on how to do it and I did the same. Easy peasy!
Repair went well. Save yourself some time. Always watch Kenmore repair videos on YouTube. I could have saved myself a lot of time if I had watch the videos before I started disassembling the machine.
The accompanying video was real helpful,though my machine wasn’t in pristine condition. I did manage to complete replacement in 30-40 mins. My satisfaction came when I put the machine through a cycle and it worked! Thanks for saving me money!

The plastic switch paddle had broken from the arms that activate the switch when the lid is closed.
I did exactly as the video showed, and it was a very easy repair. It may have gone even faster than I've indicated, didn't time the efforts. Have the right tools to start and your repair will go smooth.

The Lid Switch broke and the washer wouldn't turn on
I followed the instructional video provided on your site. It was very easy. The only issue I had was working in my tiny laundry room. There wasn't much room to maneuver. Also, reattaching the frame to the base properly is challenging.

washer lid safety switch replaced
Previous owner had bypassed the switch, but using the connector on the switch cable assembly itself, so after replacing the switch, I simply unplugged his old connector with the two terminals jumpered together, and pugged in my new switch....perfect job! Thanks.

It would'nt drain or spin
Installed new Lid Switch. Removed the cabinet to gain access to the Lid Switch and removed old Lid Switch and installed the new one.reinstalled cabinet and top control panel.

When the washer enters the spin cycle (while lid is down) the water will drain but the tub will not spin.If I open the lid and then close it again, the tub will begin spinning.Since it does spin after closing the lid it makes me think the lid switch is ok.Why won't it spin when it enters the spin cycle?

Hi Brenda, Thank you for the question. It sounds like the Timer, PartSelect Number PS11743432 is not sending the signal to start the spin cycle properly. I suggest replacing this timer. Hope this helps!
My washer has filled with water but that's it- it won't start to spin. After reading these comments, i'm thinking it is the lid switch- or rather the lid pin- if i hold a screwdriver in the hole, i gets some activity. My issue with starting this process is that the washer is full of clothes, water and detergent.I had a problem with this yesterday but a little giggling and it started. no so today. please help- 63 year women who has never fixed an appliance. thank you.

When I remove the lid switch and press down I can get it to spin but when screwed back in place does not spin but fills and agitates so do I replace lid switch

Top load washer. Fills up with water than quits. I can hold switch down with screw driver and it works. How do i get the top of washer off to get to switch, if thats what i need to replace.
